My husband and I went to Hawaii for our 25th anniversary and stayed at the Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach. Every person we came in contact with, from valet, to check in, to maid service was extremely nice and helpful at all times. They have a concierge desk to help plan outings and the man working there was very nice as well. We enjoyed the free breakfast every morning. We are sure missing the fresh pineapple we got to eat every morning! The room was a little small, but everything was newly and beautifully remodeled and very clean. Our view wasn't the greatest out our lanai on our city-view room,(it overlooked very small apartments, likely hotel rooms-turned-apartments) but we still sat out there and enjoyed the fresh ocean breezes. Overall, this hotel was great for doing Hawaii on a budget and the location was great. We were very close to the beach and nearby shopping.

Parking is expensive in Honolulu. Breakfast is good. We didn't get to try to pool as we spent time on the beach a couple of blocks away. Elevator can be slow at certain times of the day. Good location but can be noisy if you're overlooking certain sides as trucks and beeps start early in the morning.

The staff at the Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach hotel was very friendly and helpful, from top to bottom. The free daily breakfast was good and had plenty of foods to choose from - a nice option to have as a family. It kept costs of meals down. There were always fresh apples in the foyer to grab as a snack and plenty of other munchies to buy from their snack bar or from the store located within the hotel. We enjoyed having two large HD TV screens in our room which made it easy for us as a family to watch different things if we wanted. The location was not right on the beach, so there were not many good views, but we preferred to be a couple blocks away as it cuts down on the noise and people traffic. The beach just up the street from the hotel was calm and gentle and great for floating, oggling and watching sunsets. So the location was good for us as a family. The elevators seems to arrive quick enough for their 14 floors. We never felt like we had to wait long for them. The exercise room was great and there was plenty of equipment, including weights and yoga matts! Each treadmill, stairmaster and stationary bike had its own TV with captions so you could put it on mute and not bother others with the sound. The room was clean, as was its restroom. It was nice to have a scale in the room too. Keeping tabs on the pounds during vacation is important. :) The exercise room also has a large flat screen HD TV with captions as well. In fact, there were plenty of TV's everywhere in the hotel! In the lobby three or four were playing at all times, showing hulas, the Olympics, sports, island activities or other hotel info. We loved having free internet service, a great plus for our teen son and for us to post vacation pictures on Facebook! The pool was a little salty, even the day after it was cleaned. It would have been nice to see a shower near the pool so people big and small could rinse off the ocean a bit more before entering the pool. But otherwise, it was a nice option to swim and cool off. We would recommend the Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach hotel to families and those who need internet connections and screen time in between their Hawaiian activities. We give it a good thumbs up!
