Very sharp modern furniture and great service from its people but for the star rating, and the price you pay, the room was so cramped! Worse... bugs in the bed spread that gave me a very bad insect bite on my neck.

I love going to New York for the energy and quality of available entertainment options. Times Square is a wonderful experience, but the crowds can be a problem. I returned on this trip to Time, a lovely hotel on the northern end of the theater district. The rooms are small but well appointed. The first time I stayed in a suite which was a treat, this time I booked a basic room and found it containted everything I needed. Ask for a high floor to be away from the very noisy disco on the second floor. Seraphina restaurant has good service and food at a reasonable price for NYC. Best of all after the theater it is an easy walk up 8th avenue to return to your hotel. If you are a music lover, Colony on the corner of 7th and 49th is a wonderful source of sheet music, posters and music memorbelia.

I spent four nights with my daughters at this hotel. It's nicely appointed, the king/queen suite has lots of room. However, service at the hotel was spotty, but well-intentioned. We had to use the foldout sofa bed - it took over four hours and four phone calls for housekeeping to bring up sheets and make up the bed. I originally called the front desk at 6.30pm to make up the bed. No problem, they said. When we returned at 10.15pm, the bed was unmade. I called again - front desk says they'll send someone up right away. By 10.45pm, no one had appeared, so I called again - front desk says "we'll send someone up right away". By 11.00pm, still no bed linens, so I called again and was again assured that "someone would be up right away". Ten minutes later, I had sheets and the bed was finally ready The final irony was that the foldout had to be one of the most uncomfortable foldout beds I've ever slept in. I think I was able to feel every spring. I had a couple of really uncomfortable nights before giving up and sleeping on the sofabed as a sofa. Would I return? I'm still not sure. My daughters tell me the king bed was very comfortable, the suite well-appointed and attractive, the staff friendly enough - yes, I'll return, but hope that I won't need anything from the hotel while I'm there.
