Parking is cramped and expensive, especially when you consider the ample free adjacent mall parking. Speaking of mall, that is this hotels location, for what it costs you can stay on beach front Waikiki property. TV was incredibly small. Management allowed me to check into a room that the toilet hadn't been flushed in. Waited in line for over 1 hour to check in. Stay somewhere else in my opinion

My hubby and I stayed here after spending a week in another hotel (nicer) on the island (but they were overbooked so we had to spend our last 2 nights here. The property is adjacent to a very large mall. The mall is nice (if you are into shopping) but this property is NOT convenient to the beach, it is a walk and if you drive parking is a SERIOUS problem. So I don't recommend this property if you are a "beach baby". The rooms were VERY small (Kona) fortunately, we did not spend much room at the hotel so the small size was not an issue for us. There is a very popular nightclub in the main lobby so the lobby is very busy at night and parking is extremely busy. One night of our stay we heard security in the hall at 3AM escorting some very loud ladies from the club to their rooms. Valet parking is your best bet and it is not cheap. Location relative to Waikiki downtown is far (not within walking distance). Room views were nothing to right home about, I think they may be better if you stay in tower. Rooms were clean and decor was fine. Lobby is somewhat outdated but nice. Staff was friendly and helpful. This hotel is fine for a place to sleep but not necessarily a hawaiian experience (not for beach, restaurants, atmosphere......). Definitely not recommend for family or romantic getaway.

I would not stay at this hotel again because the customer service was so bad. The room was too small and the bathroom you need to close the door to get into the bathtub becuase the door already block the half way of bathtub and no balcony at Kona Tower. The first night I didn't have a good sleep because the pilllow was so small and flat. The next day I woke up I had very bad neck pain. The second day I called the cleaning service for change my pillow. I waited an hr to get my pillow. It wasn't a reasonable price for this small room. Only one good thing is they are at good location. Swimming pool is small too.

I stayed at the Ala Moana two years ago because of its location near the convention center. (The huge shopping mall next door is great, too.) The Ala Moana was a wonderful retreat from the convention, so I chose it for my recent trip. My friend and I had a room with a view of both the convention center and the ocean. We watched ships and parasailing from our balcony each morning as we drank our coffee. The hotel staff was most gracious and helpful; no one was too busy to answer questions, and each seemed especially efficient. Parking was reasonable and convenient, and the breakfast buffet in the restaurant just off the hotel lobby was superb. I certainly would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to or through Honolulu.
