Upon checking in I was upgraded to a mini suite (I did check-in late). The hotel and rooms were clean and how they appear in photographs on this site. Staff were very friendly and accommodating even including a fruit basket. The hotel has a no tipping policy that the staff adhere. The room included a mini fridge (not mini bar), a safe, flat screen TV with cable, and complementally WiFi internet access. The hotel was a short 2 block walk to the metro / subway to visit Hollywood boulevard / University City Walk (on the red line). The taxi from (and to) LAX was around 30 minutes with little traffic. In general, the hotel was in a safe and convenient location for any first time visitor to LA. There are convenience stores and eateries across the street and within walking distance. I plan on staying at this hotel again and I would recommend this hotel to family and friends.

This Hotel which also serves as a Club exceeded our expectations. Located in an the city close to several good restaurants a bonus was the in house car park facility. We would highly recommend the Hotel to LA visitors. We very much enjoyed our stay.

The location of the hotel was great. A few blocks to subway and bus outside the door. The hotel had a great grand old hotel feel. The room was clean and well decorated. The breakfast buffet was wonderful with great options. The use of the athletic club was also a plus. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the downtown LA area.

I was in town for jury duty and the location of this hotel was perfect! The room was very comfortable and clean, there was even a welcome fruit plate. Which I thought was a great touch! Breakfast was included in the price of the room along with the athletic facilities. Can't beat that! The breakfast buffet included an omelette bar and waffles along with all of the usual breakfast buffet fare. I felt very safe and welcomed. I would definitely stay at this hotel again!

I stayed at the LA Athletic Club in October 2010 and had a nice stay. The room was updated with nice details and I enjoyed the look and feel of the building overall. The only issue I had was the need to have parking validated each time I left and that I had to pay for parking at all. (There was one overall charge for parking and then they validated each time I left).
