Room was dirty, and the kitchen was so poor that we could not use the facilities. The continental breakfast was bread with only one toster for everyone to share. If you were lucky, there was some fresh frute. Elevators did not work all the time. Had to use the stairs on more than one occasion.....and our room was on the 38th floor!. Our room was very dirty and did not look like it had been updated since the early 80's. I would not go back to this resort again!

We just got back from 10 nights at the Equus in Honolulu. The Equus gives perhaps the best Kama'aina (discounted for locals) value in this part of Waikiki! The staff is very responsive, the room is nice sized and very clean, there's a flat screen TV, luxury linens and pillows, a coffee maker, and a mid sized fridge. The antique woods were a nice touch in the room, which was ready for our early check-in (and they also let us stay until 1:00 pm on our check-out day at no extra charge) Daily breakfast (includes the weekends!) consists of toast, pastries and fresh fruit, along with juices and coffee or tea. Outside there is a nice sized pool and jacuzzi in a lovely garden setting (The mangos that fell from the trees while I was swimming were a great addition to breakfast!). And to top it off, Internet and local calls are free. Overall, this value is hard to beat anywhere in the area--several blocks to Waikiki beach, or to the convention center, or to the Ala Moana shopping center. We will definitely book here again the next time we need to spend a few nights in Honolulu!

  • Great Value. Excellent location!
