Perfectly located with the beach across the street behind one set of buildings, the International Market Place wrapping around the property. More affordable than the condo we also stayyed at. Our room did not have a kitchen but we weren't there to cook. The room was clean & comfortable. The staff went out of it's way to accomodate us; upon arriving after a long flight,we found much of the area being evacuated due to a tsunami warning. Most of the shops, restaruants, beaches, and roads were being closed. The following morning when the wait staff still was unable to return to work, the head cook already on sight prepared breakfast in a self serve buffet style to meet the needs of us hungry souls. The only down side was each morning around 3 am riff- raff would raise a ruckous in the parking garage next door. With our lani door to enjoy the night air this noisse made it difficult to sleep. Close the door or use ear plugs because this beyond the control of hotel personnel. A number of reasonable restuarants are nearby and only couple blocks walk stores that cater to people with more money than sense.( or is it cents.) Everything is within walking distance, or easy access to mass transit, your room key card gets you access to pinkline trolley around all of Waikiki- 10 days andwe never needed a rental car.

  • Across the street from the beach

Very nice hotel. The staff upgraded us to a room w/king bed instead of 2 singles. It's right across the street from Waikiki beach on the main drag with all the shops. My only complaint is that there wasn't a free breakfast like the other Holiday Inns I've stayed at. Get a bus pass -$25 per person for 4 days. Taxis are very expensive & traffic is bad. You can get a shuttle to the airport for $12 pp each way. One thing I highly recommend is going on a tour with the Guides of Oahu. It's not one of those commercial "touristy" trips. It's off the beaten path parts of Oahu & then they take you to sacred burial grounds & up into the rainforest. They don't advertise so you either have to Google their # or go to the top of Diamond Head before noon to meet one of the guides to set-up the trip. WELL worth $40!

  • Highly recommend & would absolutely stay here again!

Holiday Inn Beachcomber Resort was even better than I expected! My expectations are high, (I have worked many years in luxury resort properties, I am currently in the hospitality industry, and I travel quite often), so I expect a lot. Traveling to Hawaii last minute and traveling alone, this hotel is absolutely perfect. The location is ideal for easy beach access, with the best shopping right outside your door. The staff is very friendly and focused on making their guests feel welcomed and happy, (which is huge!). The room was on the 7th floor providing a view of the ocean from the balcony, (I highly recommend getting a room above the 4th floor so you don't overlook the roof)! Newly remodeled, the room was everything I expected from a Holiday Inn...not a cheap, cramped, dirty room which are definitely out there! Very clean, comfortable bed, wonderful shower, and great housekeeping. Spending 4 nights in Hawaii, you want all of these things to be in place and they are here! Reasonably priced you know not to expect all of the bells & whistles of a luxury property, so keeping that in mind, if you want to watch your budget but still have a great hotel to stay in, this is your place! Also, I had a "red-eye" flight, so I was able to use a Hospitality room to freshen up prior to my flight even though I had already checked out. This I found to be a tremendous added bonus to my already wonderful stay!! I know I will definitely be returning to this hotel again!

  • Good value for the price.

This was my first trip to Hawaii and I wanted to be in the heart of Waikiki. This hotel gave me that. I could and did walk to everything. The room was comfortable but not fancy. I particularly enjoyed the roomy shower instead of the standard tub. It had a nice large vanity area with good lighting. The mattress was not the best, but adequate. I would have liked more TV channels as there was not much variety. I was in my room most evenings as I was travelling alone. The room card access elevators did add an welcome element of security. I would stay here again.

  • Excellent location, friendly staff!

This was our first trip to Hawaii...we were there to celebrate our 25th Anniversary. The hotel staff was friendly, helpful and eager to please. A real bonus, upon check-in we were issued a complimentary beach back-pack which was most appreciated since we forgot to pack our own. They had towels available to take to the beach at all times. Concierge staff was great and very helpful. We are looking forward to going back to the same location in the not too distant future. Highly recommend this hotel!
