Stayed for business at the convention center down the street.  When the car dropped me off from the airport with all my luggage I was excited to get into the hotel and go to sleep after a grueling day of flights.  The driver placed all my luggage on the front curb.  It was a Friday night and many people were walking around dressed up for the evening leaving and entering the hotel, I stood there disheveled with all my luggage waiting for a doorman or a bellman to greet me or at least acknowledge my presence.   There were 2 workers in sight, one I could see inside and another outside that literally walked right past me going back to the building.  Really?  he could have said "Hello, Welcome" or "I'll be with you shortly".  I'm not sure what he was doing, no one else was standing out there coming or going with their luggage.  I finally left my luggage at the curb to go find someone to help me.  I walked up to the main door where the bellman that walked by me was standing and said "excuse me, can I get some help with my luggage?"  He said, "oh, OK", went down and grabbed it and gave me a ticket, that was the extent of our conversation. Once I walked through the doors into the hotel and up the stairs, a man was the top of the stairs on his way out and saw me hauling my carry-on luggage and asked "Can I help you with that, do you have anymore luggage?"  I explained I did and no one was helping me and I had to track someone down to help.  He apologized for that, pointed me in the right direction for the registration desk and said a welcome and enjoy your stay.  The check in was pleasant. I heard the check-in conversation next to me, they were given a room that was just updated. I was hoping I would be given an updated room as well.  Just as good or better, they upgraded me to the Club level floor, not an updated room but great amenities with the lounge and all.  The room was nice but definitely could use an update.  The hotel is elegant and historical.  It is however under renovation so there is some scaffolding on the outside, construction going on and you do see some changes being made in the lobby area.  The Club lounge was very pleasant and it was great to have snacks and beverages available especially since I had no desire to go out and just wanted a quick bite and go to bed. It was also handy to have a concierge in the lounge as well. Comfortable bed and pillows, which was wonderful.  The free wifi included with the room was a plus as well.  Overall the staff were very nice and helpful, I was happy that it was just the initial arrival that was a big disappointment.  I expected more from this Fairmont as I would at any other higher rated hotel.in regards to a greeting upon arrival.  I have stayed at other Fairmont Hotels and have had positive experiences so it was definitely a big disappointment when I was standing there in the evening, curbside waiting for a greeting and help. Just goes to show you how important first impressions are!

Beautiful hotel, at check in I requested a room with a view, at most hotels you get blown off, to my surprise we had a gorgeous view of the CN tower, room service was excellent, bell service, concierge, everyone refers to you by name and has a smile on their face, also the pool for kids is excellent if you travel with little ones. The only non positive the take aways were the main breakfast room was very limited on choices, expensive, and food was not satisfactory, at the tune of $22 an omelette it should be amazing! And $48 per night for parking also hurt. I would definitely stay again.

I loved how attentive the staff was to my needs. They always addressed me by my name, not the generic ma'am or miss. The concierge seemed to know where everything was and how to get to anywhere, and what times the buses/trains ran. I was so happy with how we didn't have to wait for an elevator to become available. The room service was impeccable. We are all gluten intolerant and the waitstaff made sure none of our food had come in contact with wheat. I am so in love with this hotel that despite its price tag, I will be sure to come back. I couldn't remember another time when I had this much fun at a hotel and felt this pampered.

Overall a great stay in a great area. The staff was mostly friendly except for a bartender who was rude when we tried to go in to watch a baseball game, he even went so far as to run ahead to shut the door on us. Also it would have been nice to have free wifi since our cell phones were roaming the whole time. But comfy beds and great location made it a great weekend.
