This place was very average - we did not pay a lot to stay there so did not complain. The room was "sufficient" but could have been a little cleaner. The staff was friendly. We did not do all inclusive and were glad that we didn't. The Money Bar restaurant was walkable and very good. We had rented a car and very much enjoyed being able to explore the island and visit different restaurants and beaches.

As soon as we got there to our room which ws dirty, I went to wash my hands and the water came out BLACK!! Then I tried to call the desk to complain, but the phone did not work. So we trekked back up to the main building (quit a distance from the casitas we were in) We left while they were to fix the problem. When we returned, the water was still off color, so we moved to another room. (the water was only slightly off color). I was tired by then so we stayed. That evening I went to get ice, and of course the ice machine for the casita area was broken... another trek to the main building. Since we had rented a car, we went to the grocery store and bought water and ice. Then the day before we left, the water backed up in the bathroom (2 inches of water on the floor) & the AC broke. Another issue we had was a maintainence man just showed up at our door with a room safe wanting to know if we needed ours replaced. I found that disturbing, so I had to carry our valuables with me for the entire stay. All the while with all the problems, they were nice & appologetic, but not once did they offer anything to compensate for such a bad experience. Those Casitas were not cheap, we paid lot of money to stay in nice hotel that was NOT NICE AT ALL. Also, we only ate there once due to the food was terrible. I will never stay at ANY Fiesta Hotels again!!!

We recently spent a week at the Fiesta Americana, and found it to be a very good resort. The food in the Reef restaurant was excellent, as was the breakfast buffet. The hotel staff was very pleasant and courteous. The rooms were clean, and well maintained, except for the snack basket. We had to request refills of the coffee packets whenever we ran out. Also, the bath towels were very heavy and coarse, not soft at all. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay immensely, and would return.

The hotel is on a gorgeous property, just far enough south of town and the docks to be very quiet and peaceful. There is even a second pool and stretch of beach in front of the hotel for pleasant swimming, sunning, and snorkeling. Rooms are simple but clean, and staff is very responsive. The lobby is lively and free internet is available.

We returned to Cozumel for a dive trip July 19-24th. We had not been there in 25 years. We chose the Fiesta Americana and are very glad we did. The staff was excellent and very friendly. Everything was very clean and the grounds were spotless. We choose the all inclusive plan and were very pleased with the food and the tequila.. Breakfast buffet was really good. Our room was very large - we had the grand class room . We used the on site DIVE shop and our diving was great. The dive boats came to the resort dock and took care of everything. The resort had its own beach and we were pleased there was no charge for using the chairs! The bar by the beach was great - with servers bringing drinks even before you needed them. Dinner was served by the ocean where you could watch the sun set. Great!! We were able to use the dive shops equipment and night dive right in front of the resort - saw alot of life including octupus and eel. Night life limited in Cozumel so go for the diving and the snorkeling. Cozumel has really grown up over the last twenty years.
