Pretty good experience here. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was clean, there's a convenient little fitness center, and the location was pretty decent (walking distance to dinners and our Music Box musical). Would definitely consider staying here again.

This hotel is in an excellent location if your goal is to take in Broadway shows and nightlife. It is charming and historic. The room was lacking extra blankets, and the bed comfort was only average. I should have known it would be noisy by the fact that they provided earplugs, and indeed I was woken up by noise in the hallway. I would have appreciated a coffeemaker, something I have come to expect in hotels at this price point. Don't expect to sit down and wait for someone in the lobby, as there is no lobby to speak of. There is, however, a great piano bar with live lounge singers on the weekends. Also don't expect a view.

The Algonquin sits right in the middle of midtown, allowing you to be within walking distance of Times Square, shopping on 5th avenue, the Empire State Building, Grand Central Station, and NBC studios. As one of the oldest hotels in the city, it is full of rich history and allows you to truly immerse yourself in the New York scene. I would definitely choose to stay here again. The service was great and very prompt.
