Yuck, pretty much sums it up. Let me start out by saying it was under remodel. We were walked to our room (which was the size of a closet). It was off of the main hallway, creepy!!! The bathroom was clean, which was nice (It was the only reason we stayed). Lastly there was a hole in the wall. I stuffed it w/ kleenex. If you're looking for a pampered get away this is not the place. I would never recommend it to a friend.

I loved the hotel! The staff was sooo nice and very helpful. It has free Internet in the lobby. The room was a pretty good size, but the bathroom could have been bigger. Very clean. Great location and views. The restarunt was more on the proper side and not real kid friendly. Very Relaxing. Step's away from union square, westfeild center, and great restarunts. I would stay there again in a heart beat!

The location of this hotel is great if you want to be close to shopping, theatre, or public transportation. The BART ride to the airport is only a block and a half away. The Cable car line runs right in front of the hotel and can be pretty noisy. If you are a light sleeper ask for a room that is not facing Powell St.
The staff was great, the room was small but clean. The hotel has a great Italian atmosphere. They even have a computer with internet access for guests in the lobby.
The reason they don't get a five from me is I was only asked for my room ID when entering the hotel once out of the three evenings. I would have liked to have been asked each night. You will definitely run into homeless people in SF, but I felt safer here due to the late night shopping crowd. I have read reviews of homeless people congregating around the entrance to hotels, this was not the case here. -

Enjoyed a long weekend at the Villa Florence with my friend while she attended a convention. The room was cozy (meaning compact--not a lot of room to move around, but not a problem for just the two of us.) Beautifully decorated and clean. Bathroom also small--very much a European hotel feel/size.
Much to love about the VF, including the morning coffee and afternoon wine reception, the friendly and professional staff, the delicious fresh mozzarella sandwiches at the adjacent coffee shop, the location (right on the cable car line and close to other mass-transit), plus in a fabulous shopping area and an easy (albeit uphill) walk to Chinatown. The location makes this hotel worth every penny.
I'd stay again in a heartbeat--in fact, I'm trying to arrange for a family trip there soon.
