For the most part the hotel was very average. We loved the look of the hotel but the pyramid section is definitely seen its better days. There is no safe in the room and we didn't have hot water the day we checked out. One thing I can say is the staff are absolutely great, every worker from the dealers to the desk to the cleaners greeted us. All of them go out of there way to help. Exceptional customer service is what made up for the shortcomings of the room. Overall we had a great time, maybe it would have been better to stay in the other sections of the hotel that were more updated.

I enjoyed my stay at the Luxor, however there are a couple of areas where it fell short. The newly remodeled room looked very nice but the lighting in the bathroom and vanity area was insufficient to see when putting on make-up. The elevator in the pyramid was an interesting experience because it rides sideways. The staff does not explain that you need to insert your room key before selecting the desired floor. The pool closes early 8pm summer and 6pm winter which was disappointing as I like to soak in the jacuzzi after walking the strip. Watch out for the timeshare people as they are very aggressive. We were approached numerous times during our two night stay which was annoying. The WiFi was very weak and was unable to access the internet. I'm still trying to figure out what my $18/ night resort fee paid for. Although the atmosphere was cool with the Egyptian motif, the room rates would have to be low for me to stay here again.
