My husband and I were in Vegas for a wedding the begining of October and stayed at the Luxor in a non-smoking king pyramid room. I could tell the room had been smoked in but it wasn't anything a little Fabreeze couldn't fix. The room was clean and looked to have been updated as nothing looked worn out or old and we had no problems. Everyone from the front desk staff to our maid were great, always smiling and asking if there was anything they could do to make our stay better.

When we arrived to get our Pyramid room we had booked 4 months ago and secured for late arrival the same day we arrived, it had been sold from under us. We weren't the only ones, as a line of customers were yelling and screaming and cussing at the poor desk clerks. In our case, they made it right by putting us in a tower suite. A huge room, with a wet bar, very clean and loaded with luxury appointments. It was a splendid room and we had a great time.

My wife and I stayed for a few days. Nice hotel and casino. The problem is that the elevators and the rooms are spread really far apart. I know this is from the architecture of the pyramid, but not very convenient when carrying a lot of luggage. We needed to cut tags off some new clothes we bought. Called the front desk to "borrow" a pair of scissors....they couldn't do it. Had to buy an 8 dollar pair in the gift shop. Pretty tacky. The morning buffett was good, but half the line was closed, maybe because it is off season, but longer lines to wait for the food. Overall not bad, and the tram is helpful, but will look for someplace else next time.

Seriously this is 2013 and there was no WiFi available in the room.  Front desk said common areas only, but i'm not doing email at the blackjack table or the bar.  TV was just OK for channels, and there was also no fridge in the room.  Amenities were sub par.  Room was clean and bed and sheets were comfortable, but it never got very cool in the room.  I'll take my business elsewhere when I return.
