This was my first visit to Las Vegas in 30 years and my girlfriends very first visit period and we thoroughly enjoyed the visit. The only problem we had with the visit was that our room was sooooo far from the elevators, that we at times didn't want to leave due to the very long walk. But on the flip side we didn't gain any weight from all the eating we did, due to the exercise in walking to and from our room, my girlfriend actually lost 5 lbs.

What I love about the Luxor is that there are so much to do in the hotel or near hotels: shows, exhibitions, shopping. The room it self not 4 stars, more like 3. Bed: very nice, loved it. Front desk: not super welcoming, but OK. I asked for a nice view room or a higher floor, was offered on the 3rd floor with a roof view room. Noise: can not hear a casino noise. Buffet: food is good but with very a few people on the floor table was not cleaned ONCE. I am not picky about the service much and would stay there again for the low price we paid.

Most staff were not helpful (witha couple of exceptions) if not downright rude to me. I paid to have a suite but many things were in direpair and outdated. One of the main reasons I reserved a suite was so i could get the whirlpool tub at the end of a long day to relax in. It was broken and the staff refused to give me a room with a working one as they said they were all booked full. A cleaning lady told me they were not full. What was really gross were used kleenix by the side of the bed that the cleaning folks never cleared out. Very unsamitary. It seemed like everything was in disrepair. The food at the buffet has taken a major plummet in quality since I was last there 3 years ago. Also they charge you an $18/night "resort" fee that they told me was required to pay even if i didn't want the services. Although includes the newspaper, you have to go down to a lobby and into a store to get it rather than being delivered to your door as all other hotels I have stayed at have always done. I went to the pool to get at least a little bit back out of my "resort fee." When I stopped at the towel cabana there was a stack of folded towels. I reached for one and the pool boy shouted at me and told me not to take it. He handed me a wrinkled old towel that was still a bit damp and told me to take that one he hadn't folded yet, other wise he would have to fold andother one to replace the one I took. I couldn't believe it. this is really one of the WORST hotel experiences of my life and paid top dollar for it. I would not recommend to anyone until they become more service oriented, have some quality assurance for their housekeeping and update and repair their equipment in their suites...or at least not rent out one in disrepair and give folk an alternative. I will not return to this hotel and I am extremely disappointed with it. I encourage sites such as this to follow up with the hotels when their customers have these kind of disappointing experiences so that they can filter them out of their search until stndards are restored.

no smoking room smelled like cigarettes, with burns in the carpet. the internet cable that you pay for as part of a resort fee was broken and unusable, was very crowded place and the staff did not go out of their way to make you feel welcome. We would not stay there again.
