Our room had 1 major issue, 1 minor issue, and a few surprising lacking amenities.  Firstly, the major issue: The room we stayed in had plumbing issues. The toilet took at least 2 flushes to completely do the job. We figured they were just low flow toilets which normally don't flush well, and didn't think much of it. By the end of our stay, the sink was gurgling any time we used water whether it be in the sink, toilet, or shower. And on the final night, the shower was backing up with water while in use. We told Luxor about the issue at checkout, and they did nothing about it, and just didn't seem to care. Almost seemed as though they passed blame to us for not reporting the issue earlier in our stay when in my opinion there should have been no issue to report. The minor issue was with the air conditioning in the room. There were only 2 settings. High and low. The unit was set on high, but the room never got cold. The temperature was at least comfortable, but hardly refreshing when coming back in out of the 100 degree heat. Would have liked it cooler. I only list it as a minor issue because it at least somewhat got the job done. Amenities: The hotels in Las Vegas charge a daily resort fee for certain amenities. Fine. However when you read Luxor's list, the amenities they charge you for are outdated and not worth the fee. Our room had no wifi. Usually you can at least pay extra to get wifi in a room, but at Luxor that is not even an option. They include "free" wired internet access in their resort fee. In 2013, most people travel with smart phones and tablets. So wired access is actually useless as those devices do not plug in to cat-5 cables. Luxor does not provide a mini fridge in the room. We expected something even if it was pre-stocked by the hotel and an extra charge to drink what was in it. But they actually provided no fridge at all. We would have killed to have a mini fridge in the room to store some water after coming back in from the heat outside dying of thirst. Most surprisingly of all, there was no lock box in the room. I have never been to a hotel that does not provide a safe to lock your valuables up when you head out. Until now. We had to lock our belongings back in our suitcase before leaving the room. Other outdated amenities listed in the 18 dollar a day resort fee were "free daily newspaper" which my wife and I never received. And hilariously, "free printing of players club cards". I have never been to a casino that charges you to print a players card. Let alone charging you 18 dollars daily for printing fees when you only receive one once the day you sign up for it. Lastly none of these things are free as Luxor likes to claim they are, when you pay 18 dollars a day on top of the regular price of your room for them.  I wouldnt mind a resort fee if the hotel offered amenities relevant to this decade.  I wrote to Luxor with all of these complaints, and have yet to hear back from them. Due to lacking amenities, and being charged for outdated ones which most people these days find useless, and their not caring about the issues we had with our room, my wife and I will be looking for a new place to stay when we return to Vegas.
