Despite the glamour of the Pyramid design and snazzy decor downstairs, the rooms in the Luxor have the kind of dreary decor you would find in the average cheap roadside motel. The furnishings and linens were worn. Worse, the rooms have no in-room coffee maker, no mini fridge, no microwave, no bar, and super cheapo toiletries. No doubt this is intentional, to keep the guests in the casinos and restaurants downstairs instead of in their rooms, and it may be the nature of the beast when you stay on the strip. That said, all of the staff I encountered were polite and efficient, and the room was not dirty. If I were to stay on the strip again, I would choose another hotel.

Have to say i was disappointed that the jets were not working That was one of the amenities I was looking forward too. Hotel was nice and apologize for the convince offered us free buffet. Then when we tried to use our heat it was not working so, called they apologize and moved us in a upgraded room at it was worth all the problems the other room had . We went from 590sq feet to 1100sq feet the room was beautiful and the view was lovely .

  • The location was very convenient & close to shopping

I would recommend the hotel for anyone looking for a favorable price, close proximity to good spas & outdoor shopping.

Luxor hotel and casino was wonderful. We booked a king bed, non-smoking, pyramid room for 5 nights. Upon arrival all pyramid rooms were taken, so they upgraded us to a tower-room of our choice (West Tower - nearest the spa and pool / East Tower - nearest the skywalk and casino floor). The room was luxurious, with a marble shower and Jacuzzi tub, large flat-screen tv with expanded cable offerings, complimentary wired internet at decent speeds, and wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the rear entrance to Excalibur (more pleasant than it sounds). We enjoyed our stay at Luxor significantly more than our stay last year at Caesar's Palace. The Luxor offers shorter distances from hotel room to casino floor, easy access to other modern themed casinos, and a nice variety of slot machines and video poker. The Las Vegas regional bus system (RTC) was less than reliable. After two days of getting stranded by intermittent bus service, and ultimately walking to our destinations (10+ miles per day), we gave up on the expensive, over crowded, mass-transit system and ordered a pair of matching 50cc scooters (mopeds) from Scooter-Up. The owner was very friendly, extremely flexible, and even delivers and picks up the scooters from any hotel in Las Vegas (at less than half the price of other rental places). The scooters weren't flashy or high-speed, but they allowed us to cram more into each day, and without the typical sore feet and blisters. We will never waste money on the Vegas bus system again! Spirit Airlines was by far the worst mistake of the entire vacation, even worse than buses that never arrive. The ticket price was only a few dollars less than our preferred Alaskan Airlines, but we chose Spirit because they offered a direct flight that arrived 2 hours earlier than Alaskan. Spirit's airplane felt like a jalope assembled from recycled components of retired aircrafts. The hydraulics sounded like an asthmatic beagle dying in the luggage compartment beneath the floor. The vinyl seats were worn and cracked, extremely uncomfortable for anyone over 4 feet tall, and plastered with advertisements. My wife (who can't reach the back of the freezer) found her knees digging into the seat ahead of us. Upon landing the onboard power supply failed, causing the entire cabin to go completely dark for approximately 5 minutes. To add further insult to injury, Spirit graciously charged us an additional $180 for the privilege of carrying our own roller-bags onto their rickety plane. In summary, you can't go wrong with Luxor Hotel & Casino, Alaskan Airlines, or Scooter-Up, but don't waste your time and money on the RTC bus system or the recycled ValueJet planes re-branded as "Spirit Airlines".

From the minute we got there is was a bad experience first we were help by a rude lady checking us in!!! She tells us there is a resort fee that we were never told about for things that we didn't use like their computer, pool, etc..... Then we get to the room and it was so dirty and there wasn't enough lighting in the room!!! Sad to know this was me and my husband anniversary getaway!!
