While they maintain the casino area very well. The room was old, smelled like smoke even though it was non-smoking, the floor had food on it, caulking and paint in bathroom was coming off. For a 4-star hotel - Not good. Was attacked by there sales people for there resorts as soon as I entered the hotel, although they did eventually take "no" for an answer, they couldn't understand why I didn't want to participate. Then on top of the $$$ for the hotel, I got to pay the resort fee with tax of $20+ just for 1 night after the room price online. Will try and avoid ever getting a room there again.

Just got back from a 3 night stay at the Luxor. Unfortunately, we got in after 1100 pm the first night and had to be put into a smoking room; however, the staff were able to move us quickly the next morning. This is my third stay over 10 years at the Luxor and it beats most competitors when you figure in price and quality. The beds are perfect; rooms are clean and well appointed in the tower and housekeeping is prompt to requests. The spa and workout facility are excellent as well. The only down sides I can see is that after 1100 pm there are no restaurants open except for McDonalds at the food court and there is no wireless internet provided even for a fee.

The overall experience was satisfactory but the hotel staff was not as amiable and welcoming as one would expect. For example, our reservation was for a non-smoking room. When we arrived the employee who checked us in said there was none available and we must spend the night in a smoking-room and try to change it the next day. I told her I could not accept that because I am asthmatic and her answer was: "And in the casinos the smoke doesn't bother you?" When I told her I don't go to casinos suddenly a non-smoking area room appeared for us.

I was excited to stay at this hotel, because it's different and beautiful. When we arrived, they asked us if we wanted a different room than the one we had reserved in the pyramid. We said no, because I wanted a room in the pyramid. What they neglected to tell us was that the pyramid rooms tend to leak when it rains, and that the room they gave us was in danger of flooding. They obviously knew it was leaking, as there was a wastebasket placed by the window, but they didn't bother to tell us. When the rain started pouring in during the night, and we called the front desk, they did move us to another room, but not once did anyone offer an apology for renting us a room they knew should never have been rented. The next morning, the day manager at least apologized for the lack of communication, but it still left us with a bad taste in our mouths. Besides that, our stay was ok, but next time I will be staying somewhere else.
