Overall, my stay was average. The hotel looked much nicer online than in person. It was very basic. I thought the price was slightly costly for such a basic room. However; I imagine the price is good considering it's in the nation's capital. In addition, it was close to everything (Capital Hill, aquariums, eateries) which made it convenient.

We stayed at the Hotel George during spring break and had a great experience - 2 adults and 2 teens. Beautiful hotel with a modern decor in a perfect location. We flew in to Baltimore and took the MARC train to Union Station and then just walked the block and a half to the George. Each day we either walked to the museums (about a mile one way) or took the circulator bus (one night to a Washington Nationals game). Would absolutely recommend this hotel for its location, service and cleanliness.

We liked the hotel location and the rooms. Except for one exception, the front desk personnel were very helpful and efficient (It took me almost 20 minutes to check out). The Bistro was excellent, despite a fire alarm in the middle of dinner). We received a letter of apology the morning after.

Through sheer luck, my wife and I ended up here for four nights in late March 2010. The hotel is clean and so quiet. It's just 1.5 blocks from Union Station/Columbus Circle and about 2 blocks from the Capitol and a lot of cherry trees in bloom. We did not bring a car since most close in hotels charge $*-* a night to park a vehicle. (But you can rent cars at Union Station.) To save money, we ate in the food courts at Union Station. The heater would not stay on in our first room but the staff quickly and cheerfully moved us to another one. We would go back tomorrow!

Great stay! Met at the curb with help for my bags, they introduced me to the folks at the desk. Checkin was about a minute and a half (checkout was about half a minute.). The room was large enough, but a bit difficult to get around. I moved a chair and that helped a lot. The bathroom was large, clean and the hot water was hot right away. There was a pull-down bed available, and there was a door that could connect to another room. The Hotel George is just a short walk from the US Capitol, across the street from Union Station, and close to several restaurants.
