  Well, the pictures online of the beautiful hotel and restaurant was the reason I chose this site to celebrate my husbands birthday. However, we were never informed of the fact that the hotel was being remodeled and that we would not have access to anyting but our room. Even the lobby was blocked off. It wasn't the weekend I had envisioned for the first time we have been able to get away in 4 years.

  I had the greatest experience at this hotel. The staff was extremely helpful and diligent. We requested a mini fridge and it was brought up within 10 mins to our room with no charge. Jenny the valet manager was fantastic and very friendly. Nic the bellman was awesome and filled our ice chest with ice for our drinks without even asking. The beds were comfortable, rooms were clean, and it is in close walking distance to restaurants. I'd go back in an instant.

  In search of a weekend "stay-cation" we booked a room here because of the proximity to the Civic Center theatre and Gaslamp Quarter bars/restaurants. The past history of the hotel as a bank made for a breathtaking and unique lobby entrance. We enjoyed the hotel's quirky layout and features. Our room was comfortable and quiet. Staff and service were excellent, although we did wait a bit to pick up our car at the valet stand because they were busy with guests checking in. If you're looking for a nice Downtown hotel within walking distance to the Gaslamp at a great price, this is it.

  This is a unique hotel because it was formerly a bank. The location is great.You can easily walk to Horton Plaza and many other San Diego highlights. Our room was well-appointed, but not overly large, and we had a great view of the Coronado Bridge.

  Wonderful experience with the staff. Room was very nice as is standard for Marriott. Staff went out of their way to help get me around San Diego and continues to make every business trip to San Diego a pleasant one.
