remodeled rooms are excellent, dining choices are very good,we actually loved the food at bb kings--and the prices are very reasonable. hotel staff helpful, check in good--they could have more concierge staff available--good location on the strip--moderate sized property, well laid out so as you are not lost---tiger and dolphin area are overpriced--would really be good if they gave a discount to hotel guests

  • Would have stayed elsewhere

First night was given a corner room right next to the LOUD hotel air conditioning unit. Called the next morning to request a different room. They did comply with our requests to change rooms and to be on the same floor as someone else we were vacationing with, but were told that we would be left a message between 12:00 and 4:00 when a room became available and would have to reply by 4:00 pm as to whether or not we wanted that room or we would be out of luck. We were told this could not be done any other way as it was through the computer system. It was inconvenient to have to come back from sightseeing to say we wanted the room. When we got the room we were told we could go up there and our room keys should work on that room. Well, they didn't and security had to let us in the room and tell us to go to the front desk to get new keys. We waited over 15 minutes in line to get new keys for the room. On our last day there the front desk clerk knew we were not checking out because she extended our check out to 1:00 pm. Found out later that they checked someone else in our room even before regular checkout time (despite our agreement) because our stuff was out of the room (placed in baggage for our later flight). Apparently the front desk rebooks your room if houskeeping tells them your stuff isn't there. The hotel did comp us for our hassles but it was a lot of inconvenience for the short time we were there. I've been to Vegas before and stayed at hotels just as nice that are cheaper w/much better service.

I am no fan of Las Vegas and I do not gamble. However it turns out that a trip to Las Vegas just to see shows is cheaper than trying to do so in New York! We came in the summer when the temperature is 105 daily, so location was important. Our room was beautiful, clean, with comfortable beds, an excellent bathroom with plenty of counter space, good towels and good pillows. Inside the hotel itself was a California pizza kitchen restaurant, a Carnegie deli restaurant, an excellent hamburger restaurant, as well as higher-priced "gourmet" restaurants. We were right across the street from a McDonald's (good price for breakfast) and an Outback steakhouse with small-town prices for good steaks. There is a tram to the Trasure Island Hotel, and we were right across the street from the Venetian and Palazzo Hotels. Next door was a fashion Mall and The Forum, both selling anything and everything (although not in my price range). The pool was very comfortable with plenty of shade. I would definitely stay here again, although hopefully in the spring or fall when it is not so hot.

Be careful when making a "reservation". I went to Vegas for my daughters dance convention with the family (Wife, Son, Daughter & Myself). We thought we reserved a double queen room. Makes sense since there were four of us. When we checked in we were given a King Bed room and then told that our reservation was only a "Request". There were no Double Queen rooms left for the night we were there (a total of 8 nights). Also, we arrived at 10am and normal check in wasn't until 3PM but they still had no Queen Bed rooms? We were told that we could go to our room and then call down the following morning to see if the other room type was available. I don't want to switch rooms after we get situated. No attempt was made to remedy the situation. Pool was WAY to crowded. People were in line at 8am to get a chair. If you weren't in line, you didn't get a chair! Buffet was not too impressive. They did have a lot of selection, but not high quality. There was a reason, other than pirce that there wasn't a lot of people in the Buffet.
