The staff of the Tropicana is clearly there because they can’t get a job at the nicer hotels on the strip. The service at the front desk was slow and efforts to be friendly are clearly forced. We did eat at the Beach Café near the pool. The food was average and the service was slow. The frustrating part was we had to wait 30 minutes for a table when you could see only 50% of the tables were being utilized. They certainly weren’t short staffed as there were plenty of staff standing around talking to each other. They made it clear they didn’t want to be troubled with paying customers. The hostess stood out as being exceptionally unhelpful as she considered they were "super busy" with only the 50% of the tables being used and the rest clean and ready. The Las Vegas resort fees of $16.00 per night are nothing short of extortion and should be include in the rate.

While planning our trip to Vegas, my husband & I researched several hotels. We knew we didn't want to spend a ton of money for the hotel but still wanted to stay somewhere decent. We thought the Tropicana was great! It exceeded my expectations. Everything was clean and new/fresh feeling. If I would have been there and seen it first I would have expected it to cost a lot more per night. I will say that the casino area is small compared to a lot of other places on the strip, and it never seemed very busy. It wasn't a big deal to me as I don't do a lot of gambling (in fact, I liked their lower minimums on table games) but my husband enjoys poker especially. Luckily, he found the MGM (next door) to have a great poker room and it was just a short walk. We would absolutely stay here again!

After wandering in the huge cavernous dark hotel lobbies and casinos along the strip, it was a welcoming sight to get back to the bright colorful tropicana. The lobby and gaming area has a true tropical or miami south beach flavor. The rooms reflect the same tropical theme. The oversized queen bed is very comfortable and relaxing. I had one irritant and that was the loud fan in the bathroom which comes on automatically with the light switch. You cannot turn it off from the lights. I liked the intimacy of the tropicana. Food court okay. Even a small buffet would be okay, as there is no buffet there. I will stay again as the price is very reasonable and the hotel meets the bill.

Beautiful hotel, very clean and quiet. Rooms where a good size and had a great view from my room of the strip. Pool was awesome. Have a great staff working at the Tropicana and I will be staying there again. Had a great time at the Tropicana!
