- No guests under age 13 are permitted in the hotel.
- Dress Code for Evening Dining-Las Ventanas, Palazzo, Azia and Club Royale Dinner Theater: Men are required to wear long pants, collared shirts and closed shoes. Women may wear evening dress sandals. No shorts, jeans, sandals or running shoes are permitted at dinner. The Grill and Spices: Not as formal as above. Jeans and sandals are permitted (no flip flops or beachwear). All restaurants reserve the right to deny access if dress code is not fully met.
- All dining facilities serve a la carte. Reservations are required for dinner at all restaurants. Dinner show and restaurant availability and schedules are subject to change without prior notice. The Chef's Table dining experience is optional, additional cost applies.

I went to the Royal Hideway over New years with three other friends (2 guys 2 girls). It was such a classy resort. The service was incredible, the food was great, the other guests were great. It was all around just a classy place without any mexico cheesiness at all. I walked along the beach and was so happy NOT to be staying at the other resorts close by because they looked like a nightmare compared to ours!! The only complaint I had was that the rooms were a little dated and ours smelled a bit musty/moldy. Most of the newer hotels have jet tubs and more modern rooms, so that was a little disappointing, but since you don't spend much time in your room it was ok. I would HIGHLY recommend this resort for couples or friends who are not about partying all night and day at the resort, but about having a relaxing stay with supurb food and excellent service. (if you want to go out, there are SO many places in downtown Playa del Carmen)

We have been at the Royal Caribbean Hideaway twice. We have traveled widely throughout the United States and Europe, and believe that this is the finest resort we have ever visited. The food was consistently spectacular, and it was only by dint of working out every day (and thanks to their first rate tennis pro, I got an excellent workout in every day) that I was able to avoid gaining weight because the food is simply irresistible. Our favorite was the Asian restaurant, with the Italian restaurant a close second, but we never had a bad meal, or for that matter any kind of bad experience. If there was any kind of problem our concierge took care of it promptly and graciously. About the only complaint was occasionally iffy Internet service, and perhaps the shower heads could use an updating. Our concierge was always on top of things, and the staff are always friendly, gracious, welcoming, and create an environment in which your cares literally melt away. Don't believe the negative reviews. This is simply a spectacular place. It remains our favorite place in the world to go. We would not hesitate coming back here and we know several couples who have been back dozens of times.

We chose Royal Hideaway for our daughter's destination wedding. It was the most beautiful place for a wedding. We couldn't have asked for more. Not only was it beautiful, but the staff all went above and beyond our expectations. The food and food service was also exceptional. Our only negative experience was with the wedding planner for the hotel--she was new and we did have a few glitches there but maybe with experience she'll improve.
