My husband I and I typically stay at two star hotels. The location, for the price, was outstanding. The room was large and had a nice seating group, table and chairs and a comfortable bed. The kitchenette saved us a lot of money. Chicago restaurants serve such big portions that we always got to-go boxes and had our leftovers at noon the next day. The hotel is old and quirky, but in a charming way. The staff was certainly not overly-friendly but they were efficent and competent. I highly recomended the Senca.

Everything is good, spacious, location, kitchen in most of rooms, except breakfast service. They have muffin, toast, bagel, juices, milk, coffee, cereals. They don't mind what and how much you eat except that you can only choose one kind among muffin, toast, and bagel. Such rule is not written on the breakfast ticket or mentioned by the check-in staff. So, it make me upset when I wanted 2 pieces of toast and a muffin. Don't understand why they set up such rule to upset their customers while extra muffin won't cost them much.

right next to the hancock building and in the heart of mag. mile. hotel is old, but charming. Rooms were a decent size. Have stayed there enough to say the rooms are versatile. Some are great while the other just need some updatig. Would defintely stay there again for the price.

The locks on the doors don't work too well and help other guests open their doors. I was expecting a jacuzzi tub from ordering the king suite but instead found a partially unpainted bathroom that was too small, no jacuzzi, and a leaky faucet. great location and nice people but for the price i question its worth.

Needed an overnight room to do some shopping on the Mag. Mile...beautiful ambience; next to Water Tower Place and others! Now wished we could have stayed longer. For few dollars more, stayed in a suite and got more than expected. Very nice for an older hotel.
