We stayed at Blubeards for 1 week in July 2008. It was better than I ever expected for a time share. We had a 1 bedroom suite. (At first we were in a studio which was way too small for a 1 week stay) Every room on the property has a view of the beach. They have a great pool with as swim up bar, you must try the Bushwacker, their speciality drink. The beach is private for the resort and beautiful. They have plenty of beach chairs and even a few hammocks on the property. It was a great value and experience. Only gripe- the front desk staff is not friendly or accommodating. Also, you must rent a car because there is nothing within walking distance.

After a nightmare with a local airline company, the hotel staff were excellent to help me retrieve my luggage and ensured that we had the supplies we needed until our luggage arrived even though it was nearly 10pm. They were very friendly and understanding. The room was clean, nice and comfortable bed, large flat screen television, and convenient little fridge, stove and freezer. I would recommend this place to others who may be looking for a place to stay.

With my spouse working overseas, we chose to spend Christmas in the USVI. The staff at bluebeards was wonderful. They really seemed to understand families and their specific needs. The gift shop was always well stocked on milk and childrens snacks. The Main restaurant found a way to fit me in for a reservation to treat myself (the gorgonzola loaf is amazing). The desk staff was so polite and always had suggestions for where to get formula & diapers for a discount - where the locals go) They also had suggestions of where to go that would be family friendly. The room was larger than expected and the kitchen was well stocked so we were able to have our traditional friday night spaghetti dinner (with garlic bread made by the main restaurant..special for us) The location is at the top of a steep hill and is wonderful exercise for us Mothers of Multiples, looking to not feel too guilty for enjoying a meatloaf burrito in St Johns. The pool was very clean, as was the kiddie pool. They do have some activities for example when I was there, they had an intro to Scuba class (I'm already certified.)

It took 45 minutes to check-in even though there was no one in line. The room that was reserved for me was not clean, and was not sceduled to be cleaned that day. Note: Housekeeping is done once a week. The desk clerk was polite but incompetent and had difficulties finding me a room. On my second night I got back to my room and my key card did not work. I went ot the office to discover that it closes at 11:00 p.m. I found a security guard (polite fellow but not much help). Apparently, security is through a contractor and they don't have keys. I found a cell phone number for the property manager (nice lady but quite clueless). Apparently, other guests had been locked out the previous night. The manager did not have a key, so I had to wait for someone else to let me in. By the time I got into my room, it had been an hour. The property is adequate, not fabulous, but not a dump. Getting to your room is a bit of a maze. The view is nice. The location is convenient.
