I just got back and can't wait to book my next trip and stay there again. I was pleasantly surprised! We arrived late, but the check in process was quick and the front desk person was very polite and helpful. On our first night we decided to check out the town before really settling in, and I was surprised to find so many neat bars within walking distance! We needed food very late (3am) and the front desk provided us a menu of a place that would deliver. Our room wasn't in the main tower but across the parking lot. We had a pretty big balcony; we had furniture out there, and could hang out and enjoy the view of the pool, beach, and marina all from one spot! The beach had a volleyball event going on which was exciting to watch! The staff is so knowledgeable, eager to help in anyway, and seem happy to work there! The pool bar has great deals and specials and the sandwich place was awesome!! They had the best food, healthy options, and good portions and not outrageously priced. The place was overall very clean and it wasn't like one of those that you're scared to have the covers touch you or walk on the carpet without socks...you can tell its well kept and very clean. When it was time to go, they had a cab ready for us and we were definitely sad to leave. I will recommend it to anyone that is heading to FL!

I had read all the reviews before staying at this property so i was aware that the rooms were more motel like like hotel like but the rest of the hotel and staff was incredible!! I was greeted with a bottle of wine on ice and chocolate covered strawberries on arrival for my anniversary and a nice note with it!! The charm of this resort is the location-within walking distance of alot to keep us busy, the staff, the exercise center, the options for eating-the sandwich shop is awesome, the room service is affordable and the pricing on the rooms is very affordable! It has a different layoout also-the bridge on the 2nd floor was intresting-one was is the bridge to the famous Ft Lauderdale beach and the other way goes to the very nice pool and exercise center. We were told to call the hotel directly for the best pricing. I am someone who likes my luxury hotels and my suites but I found the Mahair Mar very different and fun!! I will be going back and have already recommended it to many people!! Take it from me I have stayed at amazing resorts with the worst service and it was not fun-here the staff cannot do enough to help you and make you feel welcome-it makes a huge difference!! Try it you'll like it!!!

I spent five nights at Bahia Mar after looking for somewhere convenient to the beach, Intracoastal waterway, and SCUBA diving. There's a walkway onto the beach passing over A1A (so you don't have to dodge traffic). I could see the ocean, marina, and Intracoastal from my room (w/small balcony). It's Stop #5 for the Water Taxi. Best of all, there's a dive op on premises, and it just happens to be one of the best in the area, Sea Experience. I can't say enough nice things about SeaXP; the owner, is a great guy and expert SCUBA instructor, and his staff are all top-notch, and who are a blast to dive with! Diving there is loaded with great locations. The dive boat is at the marina, so all you do is roll out of bed in the morning, walk out the back of the hotel to the dive shop, then across the parking lot to the boat. They also do morning ad afternoon snorkel trips. The hotel room service was prompt and the food quality was very good and quite reasonably priced. There's a deli across from the main entrance of the hotel with a nice selection of salads, sandwiches, and wraps, as well as snack foods and drinks. Location was convenient to downtown and Las Olas, and there is a 7-11 about a half mile down the road for any little items you want (the room has a refrigerator). Bahia Cabana is on the other side of the marina and it has great food and drinks, as well as live music most nights. The only negative is that there's no wireless Internet access in the rooms (free in the lobby); you pay $9.99 a day for spotty room ethernet access.

We loved being right across from the ocean where there was a fitness trail. We ran every morning along the ocean and ended with the fitness trail. Very nice location to downtown area and marina. Easy access to boating activities all within walking distance. Very nice restraunt on sight also. I recommend this hotel. Tami, Minnesota
