To start, we could not check in to our room until after 5pm, the room wasn't ready at our arrival so the front desk said they would call when ready, they never called. Then got to room, it was very nice and what seemed clean, until we wore socks in the bathroom where the sink was , which was carpeted--and our socks got soaked. Then realized the sink was clogged while brushing teeth later on, too late to do anything about that. Dont expect to get anywhere from the higher floor numbers, as the elevator is so old and if you are there at a busy time of year, make sure you give lots of time to being stuck on the elevator because if you have plans to be somewhere at a certain time, you may be late. Have been to much better places for the price at Ft Lauderdale Beach.. Also to top the night off, our neighbors were slamming the door at 3am over and over until we complained about it.

My wife and I enjoyed a great overall experience even though the weather was less than perfect(windy and cool) the first day. On the second day the wind died down a little an we were able to relax by the pool and watch the rivalry football games at the pool bar. The food served at the pool bar was better than average and adequately priced. I especailly liked the fact that the staff allowed us to use the pool facilities even after we had checked out(we were waiting on our boarding time for our cruise).

I was looking for a hotel at last minute, came across a good deal with this hotel....but after reading all the negative reviews I was not too sure, but booked anyway. I'm glad I did...great hotel...if people wanted to stay at the ritz then stay there, I very much would stay Bahia Mar Beach Resort again. I enjoyed it more than the Sheraton last year. Will be back next summer!

This hotel is older and it shows - however, for the price, it is still a great value. The location cannot be beat - right on Ft.Lauderdale Beach and it even has a pedestrian bridge over the road to the beach. Nice pool, decent restaurant, good staff.
