The hotel is in a good area of London, near a "tube" stop, shopping, and some restaurants. Other than the furniture in the room needing updating, the quality of the room was very good, and the price was right. We stayed 5 nights, and I would definitely stay here again.

My daughter and I enjoyed our stay in london. Room was ready when we got there , around 11a. Gave us a chance to rest from our flight. Staff was overall helpful, but struggled with the friendly part. The room could use some updating.

I would stay here again, but would probably get a deluxe room which are, of course, nicer. Our room was adequate for the price. Some hotels are not large enough to walk around the room, but this was not the case. We had adequate room. The concierge with maps and advice, the snack cafe with reasonable soups and sandwiches, and the closeness (one block) to the subway (tube) were added bonuses. There are restaurants in the hotel, but other restaurants are very close. Because the tube is so close, one can reach the hotel from the airport by tube which cost much less than taking a taxi. Purchasing an "Oyster" card (public transportation at a discounted price) either before arriving in London or at the airport makes using the tube and trains much easier and less costly. It does have a business center, but I don't know if it is free internet. Breakfast is not included in the price, but can be added. It seemed like a safe area--we never felt afraid to walk anywhere. I would stay here again, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a safe hotel close to public transportation in a great location to shops and restaurants in Kensington at a reasonable price.

Tucked away in a a delightful corner of Kensington HIgh St, this hotel is accessible, friendly, upscale and priced perfectly for the budget traveler who like a little luxury. The location is perfect- five minutes from the nearest tube station and every shop you could think of, plenty of bars and restaurants too. And it's safe to wander! Staff are all friendly, cleanliness is exceptional and when something does go wrong the management does everything they can to fix the issue very quickly. I have stayed here several times over the years and would not hesitate to recommend.

For our seventh London vacation, we chose this large, mid-range chain hotel for its price and location, and we were not disappointed. It's one block south of the High Street Kensington tube stop (Circle and District lines), which means it's close to that street's numerous amenities (shops, cafes, pubs and several bus routes) but a block away from the noise. It's about a 10-15 minute cab ride (or three tube stops) from Paddington Station, where the Heathrow Express stops. There's always a lineup of available taxis in front of the hotel. The hotel offers a great, full breakfast, served buffet style so you can serve yourself quickly and get on with the sightseeing. (Ours was discounted at 10 pounds a day each, about what one would pay in a local restaurant.) There's a small onsite cafe, a comfortable restaurant/bar (where breakfast is served), and a separate Asian restaurant. Our hotel room was larger than we usually get in London, and the maid service was excellent. The room included a small refrigerator and a plug-in kettle for coffee or tea. Room furniture had some slight dings, but we're landlords so our expectations are realistic. Our only negative was the cost of local phone calls and internet service, which many U.S. hotels include without charge. Phone calls were 80 pence a minute, and internet service was quoted at 15 pounds for 24 consecutive hours. We pointed out the length of our stay, and they reduced the internet rate. Bottom line is, we had a great stay and will return if the price remains competitive.
