The Millenium (formerly SI) is a nice hotel with a lot of amenities, but it is becoming somewhat dated and in need of a renovation. I stay there at least 4-5 times per year and there are consistent maintenance problems with the hotel - everything from tubs that don't drain very well to broken irons or trouser press machines in the room. The carpets look worn and the TVs look like they're from the 1990s. Other than that, the hotel still has a certain appeal - the staff is generally very nice and helpful, the hotel is generally clean, and it's hard to beat for amenities. There are at least 5 or 6 restaurants reachable without ever going outside, there is a U-Bahn train station out back, several theaters directly attached to the complex as well as a casino, several bars, and a very nice spa (Schwaben Quellen). There is also a 24x7 gas station next door with pretty much any amenity you might want. On the downside, there used to be a very nice fitness facility attached to the Schwaben Quellen that went out of business and was replaced with an orthopaedic clinic. The hotel added their own small fitness center, but it's low end as hotel fitness centers go, so you will need to go outside if you want to do any real exercise. All in all, it's a very convenient hotel, but if a renovation isn't in the near future, it will be tempting to start looking at nicer hotels downtown.
