Good mid-range hotel.

This hotel is an older hotel, but rooms were clean. It was very humid while we were in Charlottesville and the air conditioner is an outside unit and it just brought all that humidity into the room. Staff was very courteous. Beds were reasonably comfortable. For purchase, the restaurant had a breakfast buffet -- menu did not vary.

We booked this hotel for a traveling friend who is super allergic to everything and we were concerned with how well she would do. Are the non-smoking rooms truly smoke free. She slept like a baby, had no allergy issues and was truly overwhelmed by the superb level of friendliness she received from the staff.

This hotel is just a few block up the main road from the main grounds of UVA. Very convenient to UVA and to the wealth of shopping and dining on rte 29. The staff is wonderful. The folks at the front desk treated us like we were home. The room was nice--not luxurious, but plenty large, with all the conveniences and amenities you'd expect. Certainly a good AAA 3 star quality. It's also nice to be able to use the health club across the street. We've stayed here a few times the last year and have been very pleased every time.
