The hotel was centrally located to everything. Could easily walk to all of the best attractions. The doormen/bell-hops provided excellent service. The bedding was extremely comfortable. Only downfall was that our room was right by the elevators so we could hear rumbling from that. Otherwise, I will definitely return to this hotel again when visiting Chicago.

This hotel is located just two blocks off the Miracle Mile , and felt safe walking around at night. There was a supermarket across the street, which was great for grabbing a quick breakfast or snack. The Doubletree is clearly an older hotel that has gotten a face lift in the last 5 years but the room size is normal and our room was very clean. We stayed in Room #503, which was a handicap room. Since we arrived late in the evening, I didn't want to go down to the front desk and haggle with them to give us a different room. I wish I had. The bathroom was spacious but had ZERO counterspace. Handicap or not, there was nowhere to rest my hairdryer, let alone my toothbrush so I had to unpack and repack my toiletries everyday. This hotel was fine, and the price was right but I think I'll try someplace else next time I visit Chicago.

When I arrived the check-in was quick & came with free & fresh choc. chip cookies. My room was a nice size & very clean; the bed was ridiculously comfortable, & filled with lots of plush pillows. The hotel's location is great; it's right in the heart of the downtown area & within lots of bars, restuarants, and shopping. As for service, every single staff member I came into contact with from my arrival to my departure, was friendly, warm, & eager to help me. The only downside for me was that there was no free internet in the rooms. (However, the hotel did provide a business center with free internet access there.) But overall, I give this hotel two thumbs up!

02/07/2011We all loved this hotel. down stairs einstein for your breakfast. walking distance from every thing. lots of restaurants in the neighborhood. clean big rooms.

The location is fantastic! Plenty of resturants within a few blocks, a large grocery store across the street and less then two blocks from Michigan Ave. The red line 'L' is an easy six block walk and always through very nice areas. The hotel staff provided excellent personal service and made my stay very confortable. My room was spacious and was appointed with anything I could need. I would recommend this hotel and I hope to return soon.
