We loved the atmosphere of the Republique area and the Metro was just outside the front door so touring all of Paris was very easy. The hotel was was in very good condition and the room we stayed in was larger than I had expected. We were very happy with our stay at the Crowne Plaza Republique.

Overpriced for the room, internet was free for an hour or very expensive to have for longer, even for priority club member. The room was not cleaned well after the first night, with missing toiletries, toilet paper, unclean glasses and dust/hair left behind. Great location, but there are better Paris boutique hotels in the area. Breakfast buffet was almost $40 dollars a day.

Staying at the Crown Plaza Republique was truly an enjoyable experience. We stayed for an entire week and could not have asked for a better accommodation. It's located so conveniently with a Metro stop on the corner that makes all of Paris easily accessible in minutes. We easily walked to nearby sights and attractions including Canal St Martin, Sacre Coeur, and Garnier's Opera. The staff was friendly and helpful and the hotel was kept clean. There was a lovely rooftop terrace located in the center of the building with ample seating to relax outside. Though the room was a bit tight, it did have a small balcony from which we enjoyed the sights, sounds and smells of Paris (there's a wonderful bakery on the corner). The one thing I will advise is to take a taxi to and from the airport as the public transportation proved to be tortuous with luggage (so many stairs!!).

The metro was one block away. Other transportation in front of the hotel. Several great cafes surround the square fronting the hotel. As for the room, our room was dusty - it could use a good cleaning. You could hit a decorative pillow and the dust would rise into the air. On our third day, after a full day out of the room, we returned to an unmade bed and the bathroom was in the same used shape when we left. We called service and we did get things cleaned up - but not a very good job. All the wrappings of snacks by the TV bar were dry and dusty - too old for us to to attempt. As for the desk staff, even tho we were the only people at the desk we were treated as if they there was a line of several dozen visitors waiting and staff patience was not visible.
