I stayed in the "Premium King" room and found it very comfortable and quite a value for the cost. The staff was extremely polite and helpful. I was in Portland for a conference and the location was absolutely PERFECT! One block walk to the Conference center, a Burgerville and a Denny's across the street and just a short walk to the mall for a forgotten item. The only downside is not having perfect control over the room's temperature. They decide what temperature of air you can blow into the room depending on how the temp is outside. If outside is hot, you get air conditioning, if outside is cold, you get heating, if outside is nice, you get outside air. I could have opened the windows or gone downstairs for a space heater but I hunkered down under the plethora of blankets instead. All said and done, I would definitely stay here again but I would grab the space heater upon check in unless it was unusually hot outside.

My girlfriend and I went to Portland for a few reasons: 1) to see if this is a city with potential for moving to (as Chicagoans we decided it wasn't.... yet), 2) to see Multnomah Falls, and 3) to attend WizardWorld ComiCon. This hotel was 30 min by train from the airport - the train takes you right in front - it was perfect for us, as we had opted not to rent a car for the entire trip. For two people: two-way airfare+hotel stay for 3 nights was 866 total. While the hotel isn't in the heart of the city, it was also across the street (literally)from the Oregon Convention Center, where we were for #3 (above). It was also a 12 minute walk from Enterprise car rental, and 30 min from Multnomah Falls by car.

Very nice Portland hotel, centrally-located to everything we needed. Only complaint was our bed was very uncomfortable and probably needed a new mattress and box springs a few years ago. The staff, food, 6th floor bar, were all awesome. Would give the hotel a very good rating.

  • Okay place to stay

No problems at the hotel; the bed was extremely comfortable. Light rail stop is just cross the street. Light rail free service to downtown Portland will end 9/1/12. With the exception of Denny's, didn't see any restaurants that served breakfast within walking distance other than fast food places. The morning we went to Denny's it was quite crowded and the service was slow. We did not try the restaurant within the hotel.

There were several times where we could not find a space to park in the lot. One of us had to wait in the car while the other went inside to ask where we could put out car. This is not right, especially since we were charged $12 per day to park in that lot.
