The rooms were kept clean and the location is good. You can get anywhere in San Diego in about 10 minutes from this location. Other than the above, our stay was adequate, nothing more. The WiFi did not work in the rooms. We called to inquire and were told it only works in the office. This is not what is advertised on the website. Parking was tight, spaces were tiny and we were in an economy car. The parking lot was always crowded. On the 3rd night of our stay, we were called at 2:50am and told we needed to evacuate the room due to a water leak. They advised that we could leave our items in our room and simply go sleep somewhere else. I explained this was not an option and was then asked to walk my room to see if there was any water anywhere. There was not. The following morning at 9:00am I was awoken again to be told we would need to relocate because the water was going to be turned off. I asked that I be given time to shower and she said she would ask them to hold off on shutting the water down for 30 minutes. I hung up the phone and went to turn on the shower and it was already off. A little frustrating to say the least. We packed up our room and headed to the office. We were told we would be upgraded to a suite for our inconvenience. Our new suite was on the 3rd floor and we were directed to the elevators. We took all of our luggage to the elevators which were not working. I went back to the office and they were unaware. Signage immediately went up about the elevators being out of service and a bellboy helped carry our things up 3 flights. The suite was a nice room, but the toilet ran and ran and ran. I didn't want to deal with the management staff so I simply turned the water off so we could sleep. The AC was so loud that we had to close the bedroom door to not hear it...which meant...the front room of the suite was extremely cool but the bedroom was warm. Overall, not a great stay and would not recommend.

Overall, It was a really good hotel, great customer service. There was a problem with the smell of the water, could have been some type of sewer problem (Not sure). During the day time it was a bit noisy, because it is close to the main street. Other than that, everything else was great!!

My first impression was good because the landscaping and lobby were very nice and inviting. Then I went to my room. I cannot fathom what they spent the multi-million dollar renovation on because it certainly was not the rooms. I felt like the room had not been updated in about 20 years (with the exception of the TV). It was your very basic, run-of-the-mill hotel room. I expected much more. In addition, the people in the room above my room were excessively noisy, and the management had no idea how to handle the situation properly. I had to address the noisemakers myself. I checked out 2 days early and would not go back to this hotel.

The service was excellent. The location was good if you plan to have a rental car. Across the highway from Sea World, 5 miles from the airport, less than 10 miles from the beach, 30 minutes from Legoland, etc. The room was clean and the kids loved the bunk beds. With the wall separating the kids' bunk beds from the king bed the room felt like a suite. They felt like they had their own room! The pool and hot tub were a nice way to end each day and the kids could burn that extra energy. I was glad it was open until midnight, which was a plus since we could enjoy it after dinner. Would return for vacation, but not for business. The internet was too slow. I did not need it, but noticed it when tried to check email. Overall, a good value for the price.
