We went on blind faith and reader reviews to select this hotel- reader reviews were on target: this hotel is in a great location, the staff is very friendly, overall we were very happy with our stay. Parking is expensive (+$40/day), so skip the rental car - cable car and other mass transit is right outside hotel

After booking airfare to SanFran on line, we decided to look for a hotel on line as well. There are so many choices ranging in price. That wasn't our deciding factor. We looked at the reviews, location, pictures and value. The hotel was a little walk once you get off BART at Powell St. Station, but a nice walk. The location was great, the trolley was just right outside the hotel. The hotel staff was wonderful and the rooms were very nice. We asked for a nice view since we had not been to SanFran before. The lady at the desk said there was an additional fee but she was able to get us a decent view anyway with no charge. We walked everywhere as the city was great people watching along the way to our destinations. Everything was really close. Great Sushi restaurants a few blocks away. The night life was fun and you can get whatever you want out of it. The hotel is the center of a shoppers paradise! All in all, this hotel was a great find and would definately stay there again!

the number one thing that gets me most about this hotel is its location. it is easily a stone's throw away from Union Square, with flagship stores around the area. the rooms are big and the beds are comfortable. the staff are well-trained are easily approachable if you have any questions. my first time in San Francisco was definitely made convenient and fun by Hotel 480. i recommend this to mid-range travelers, absolutely worth your money. will stay here again when i go back to SF

The location of this place is the selling point. One block from Union Square, the shops, China Town, and the tram stop outside to Fishermans whalf. The staff were excellent. Helpful and efficient. We were upgraded to a corner suite as it was our honeymoon. The room was on the 25th floor, views over the city. Value for money for this kind of room and view, with the service... couldn't fault the hotel in any way. The only issue is parking (which I think is a problem all over San F)

Love Hoilday Inn's decsion to get rid of those moldy bed coverings and just use crisp white sheets, folded down, to dress the bed. For my highly allergic friend who shared the room, this was the most spore-free hotel experience of our week in the Bay area. We had a very large double on a high floor overlooking Union Square, that was quiet as well, eventhough the windows opened. Front desk was a bit brusque, though efficient (he hardly looked up from his computer screen0, and there was not a bell hop immediately available, but this was more than expiated by the charm of the doorman.
