Hotel was beautiful to look at inside and out. Really old, historical building. Large rooms. We stayed in the 2 bedroom, 2 bath suite. (Hotel did try and pull fast one and give me a 1 bedroom junior suite, but I had paperwork to prove what I had already paid for through online travel website.) Even had extra pullout sofa bed for 5th guest, but not too comfortable) Toilet in one bathroom didn't work, but was fixed upon request the next day. Very friendly doormen and valet staff. Old hotel meant rooms not very sound proof and we heard guests from a wedding late into the night. (5th floor, but open design) Hated the parking situation in Atlanta. We paid $25 a night for overnight parking. You had to pay to park everywhere. I think with $250 a night hotel rooms, parking should be provided.
All in all, I would go back to this hotel if I needed the large suites for a family trip. Kitchen and extra bath comes in handy. -

I wanted us to have a "Southern" experience and chose the Georgian Terrace Hotel for our trip to Atlanta. It is lovely & gracious. The staff was wonderful and the service excellent! The building is just beautiful too. These are not "cookie cutter" hotel rooms and have a genuine Southern feel to them. Our room had a full kitchen which is just wonderful for family travel since it is hard to get everyone to do everything in unison! We stocked up on snacks and breakfasty things to satisfy the late sleepers. Our room was so comfortable with its large amount of space and beautiful diningroom table that we stayed in a lot. It is clear that the staff is working regularly on upgrading and maintaining this gracious hotel. The proximity to the Fox Theatre is wonderful - and a wedding on Saturday night indicated to us that it had wonderful banquet facilities too. If we return to Atlanta in the future, I will definitely stay at the Georgian Terrace if only to experience another of its room - all of which are unique in layout and views of the city. Oh..the internet availability was excellent too - and would allow business travelers great convenience! I truly enjoyed our stay!

Don't ask for a non-smoking room. I think that is how we got an older, not yet refurbished, room. We too had a toilet that ran all night, not that it mattered, the beds were horrible and freezing. The second night we asked to be moved. We may have been in a smoking room, but we had the memory foam mattresses which were great, and the heat worked.
The food was horrible. Really, just don't waste your money. They are clearly trying for a sophistacated take on traditional dishes, but it isn't working. There are so many restaurants nearby that this shouldn't be a problem.
The staff was very nice, the location great, and it is worth another stay, now that I am a little wiser. -

we used online travel website to get rt airfare and rooms ...my lovely wife and i came down to celebrate NYE in atlanta, and specifically, at the fox theatre.
we used online travel website to get RT airfare and rooms for a price LESS than the cost of either separately. when we first entered our room, i was a little taken aback - we've never had a corner room before, and it was configured in a way that made it seem tiny. once we settled in, though, it was ideal - a small sitting area, with a balcony large enough for three people to stand side-by-side, and a cozy bedroom with a comfy bed.
midtown isn't as unthreatening or as bustling as one might like, but the restaurant in the hotel is excellent. there's a grocery 4 blocks away, and similarly distant, there are wonderful restaurants.
the hotel itself is a marvel - lovely to behold, and entertaining just to walk around and look at. plaques everywhere.
the fitness center - my wife and i think of hitting the gym as our fave leisure activity - is wonderful. the rooftop pool, well, you wouldn't want to get in it mid-winter, but in warmer weather it's fun, and the view from the roof is nonpareil.
what a bargain, and what a wonderful time.
PS: MARTA runs from the airport to within 2 blocks of the hotel. $1.75 per person. oh, and parking at the GT is $25 / day. -

The hotel was very pretty. I reserved a room for two,and upon my arrival I was given a up grade to a suite, with a kitchen, at no extra charge. We went and bought some food to make breakfast, and went to the front desk to ask for kitchen utensils because there was nothing in the room we were told there was a $25 set up charge. I said "you have to be kidding me", they said, " no were not". They did get us two plates, forks, knifes, and spoons, at no charge. So if you plan to do any cooking bring your own utensils. The food and service in the resturant were excellent. Parking is not cheap at $25 a day.
