This hotel is the largest in Chicago. The staff was extremely busy, but welcoming during check in and did their best to get my mother on the same floor as my husband and me. They actually upgraded my mother to a Jr Suite that was very spacious and had a lovely view of the river. The elevators are plentiful & very fast, but avoid leaving the hotel during checkout or you might have a lengthy wait for an elevator. They also have an escalator. The lobby is lovely & airy and there is plenty of staff on the ground floor to help you in any way. I cannot comment on either restaurant in the hotel as we didn't eat there, but they do have a Starbucks on the 1st floor. There is a wonderful grocery store directly behind the hotel on Stetson St named Bockwinkel's that has homemade breakfast items, a great deli and any other item you might need. The hotel is very centrally located & just a 2 block walk to Michigan Ave catch the CTA Buses (the #151 takes you all over town). The Mag Mile is within walking distance over the bridge. One fabulous tip that our daughter gave us (she lives in Chicago) is to walk over to the Walgreen's(across the bridge on Michigan Ave) and purchase a 3 day CTA pass. It saved us tons of money & the aggravation of having exact change to ride the bus.

04/20/2011The hyatt regency chicago is a great hotel with lots to offer. location is ideal, it is huge, offers 3 bar areas inside hotel and nice view of lake michigan :)
