We stayed at the Waikiki Banyan with our three teenage boys. The good: location, price, nice king size bed for us, pool and rec area, kitchen and cooking amenities, clean. The not-so-great: super outdated room - this doesn't really matter to us, but there is this icky feeling about exposed old laudry plumbing, chipped tile, old fixtures, thin worn carpet, ancient TV with no movies, no wifi. But then, this encouraged us to spend no time there, it was kind of great! The actually bad: clueless, unhelpful desk staff who only knew "I don't know" or "no we can't" for answers; and the horrible, ancient, poking-springs sofabed and rollaway that justified saying this was a room for *. So do ask for a upgraded room before you reserve and do ask questions about the actual beds they are calling beds.

The Aston Waikiki Banyan has a great location in the heart of Waikiki close to Kapiolani Park, Waikiki Beach and the Honolulu Zoo. The room size is great with the bedroom separated from the living room and kitchen. Full kitchen is great for those who don't like to eat out so much and/or want to save money. Grills are available for $2.00 per hr..still cheaper than eating out in Honolulu. Being able to grill fresh island fish is wonderful. Nice size pool and two hot tubes. However, I didn't like the fact that you had to pay for tennis equipment and basketballs if you wanted to use the courts. Other than that it is a great place to stay, and parking is some of the cheapest in Waikiki!!!

we arrived at the hotel tired from 8 hr flight. room was ready, no hassle getting to it. very pleasantly surprised that it was exactly what the on line video showed. on 32nd floor beachfront. great view of diamondhead and waikiki beach. 1 block from beach. we had all the items we needed to cook breakfast and make lunches to go. houskeeping was very good, the daily paper was a nice surprise. staff was very helpful and prompt with our requests. onsite store was reasonable for the convience factor. parking garage at $10.00/nite or $50.00 for 7 days was a great bargain. quiet location. there's a famers market 1/2 block away not sure of what days but worth a visit. will go back again.

The Waikiki Banyan was chosen by a family member who lives in Honolulu. He was getting married and found the hotel to be convenient for his parents, his brother and for us. We definitely wanted to stay at the same hotel to communicate with the family during the festivities. Our room was very spacious, the bedroom was large and the king-size bed very comfortable. The view from our deck was exquisite at night. The kitchen was well-equipped and we ate many of our meals there. Shopping was also convenient to this property.
