The hotel is ok, across the beach, near to the store. Although, their room is small and they don't have a laundry access. But there is an incident before we left, we stayed on the 7th floor, 2 rooms before our room, the parents can't enter to the room, since their 14 yrs old son is inside and he locked the room exp. the vault key. they kept trying to open the room by sliding the card and even the management of the hotel can't open it since the teenager locked the vault key. they even called a police, the management already destroyed the door. my point is, the management should not put the vault key or if they want it, they have to make sure that they should have an access to the room no matter what happen. what about if the one who locked the room is a 4 or 5 yrs. old that don't know how to open the vault key? when it comes to cleaning the room they did an excellent job, staff are courteous and friendly.

I spent WEEKS researching hotels to stay at near Waikiki Beach, and this one ended up being the best bang for my buck. I was iffy at first since it's listed as a 2-star hotel (before renovations), but everything worked out for the best! OVERALL: It's been recently renovated and the rooms look great now. I wouldn't say it's the Hyatt or anything, but it's definitely worth the price. The rooms were very clean and neat and the staff were very helpful. It's right across the street from Waikiki Beach and you get an awesome view! It's also very close to many shops and restaurants, so if you don't have a car, it works out well for you. DETAILS: Like others have said, the "lobby" is outside, but that didn't matter to me. Since I booked online, I didn't know that there's no way 2 Partial Ocean View rooms could be next to each other (we had a family of 6, so we needed 2 rooms). Well they helped us out and for a $10 upgrade, one of the rooms became an Ocean View room without any hassle. The rooms themselves are kinda small, but they're very neat and clean. NO BEDBUGS! (in our two rooms at least). The bathroom is very small and you can only fit one person at a time, but hey, that's good enough. There's also a closet (with mirror doors), a small fridge, and a desk. You have to pay for internet ($9.99/day or $39.99/week; ethernet-wired; NO WIRELESS). The beds were very comfortable--it felt like they put foam toppers on their mattresses, but whatever, it was nice. AND there were outlets EVERYWHERE! For a person that carries a lot of gadgets with her, this was definitely a pro! There's also a balcony, but for some reason, the entire time we were there, it was SUPER windy, so we didn't spend too much time out there. Waikiki Beach is right across the street (and the hotel is near a crosswalk too) and the hotel has some floaties that you can borrow. There's also a foot bath on the hotel property as well if you don't want to wait for the showers on the beach. There were free Hula shows on Tues/Thurs/Sat/Sun right across the street from the hotel as well (very nice!). COMPLAINTS: PARKING: ....it's $12/night to park in the hotel's garage. But that's not my complaint ($12/night is actually a good price compared to surrounding hotels). My complaint is that their garage SUCKS! It's a circular hotel, so the garage is also in a circular design. Now imagine drawing parking lines around to fit cars in...You can tell they tried several designs because you can still see the old lines. But basically...the spots are labeled "VAN ONLY", "BIG CAR ONLY", "COMPACT CAR ONLY". Several times did I drive in (with an Intermediate SUV) only to find a compact car parked in my "BIG CAR ONLY" spot....on the line. Sometimes I wish people had more common courtesy. There aren't that many spots, but the hotel staff told me that if they run out, they can offer you a spot at their sister hotel, Aston Waikiki Banyan Hotel, for $10/night. NO MICROWAVE: Now, this may not be a big issue for some people, but we didn't want to eat out for every single meal (that hurts the wallet!). And sometimes, you have leftovers...well you have a fridge to keep those in. But what will you do if you want to warm it up?! This hotel does not offer any microwaves (you can't even get one for an extra fee). So, what did I do? I bought one for $20 off of Craigslist =P But it was still annoying to have to do that. Other than the parking and microwave issue, this hotel was a great buy. I'd definitely recommend it if you're looking for a hotel with a great location on a budget. Oh yeah, they also serve Kona coffee (caffeinated and decaf) as well as hot water for tea from 6:30-9:00am in the "lobby". Not bad at all. =]

This is a GREAT hotel! It's small (seven or eight rooms per floor, 14 floors) and sandwiched in between the big hotels. The location has to be one of the best in Waikiki -- right across the road from the beach and Kuhio Beach park. You don't even have to go down to the nightly entertainment and hula shows in the park -- you can see and hear them from your balcony. The rooms and the lobby are really nicely decorated -- colorful and inviting. This is not the place if you want all sorts of amentities right inside your hotel like a pool, free breakfast, shopping, etc -- but everything is right outside the hotel entrance from the beach, tons of stores (an ABC store is right next door). The staff is friendly and knowledgeable -- and the size of the hotel makes for a much more intimate experience than staying at the bigger hotels. Highly recommend this place -- especially if you can get one of the rooms with an ocean view.

This hotel was right across the street from the beach, each room has a balcony looking out on the city or the ocean. The staff was very helpful, suggesting great restuarants. It's got a retro feel to it, which is fun. Very clean room and bathroom. It was wonderful to sit on our balcony and look out at the ocean.
