minor gripes: chaos on entering front lobby: two desks each with a slow moving line. Neither one marked. Turned out I was waiting on the concierge desk line when trying to check in, until another guest in the line,seeing my uncertainty, told me. Lights in bathroom too dim Charge for internet, even in business center.There was a wired modem in my room, either broken, or i needed to pay somewhere to get it turned on . And since front desk is always busy, with a line, i never bothered to ask

This beautiful hotel treated my daughter and I as if we were the most important guests there at the time. This is definitely a quality hotel, with available amenities -- such as an elegant bar -- that make it one I will be sure to visit again someday.

The Fairfax at Embassy Row is an outstanding hotel. The staff is friendly and the rooms are outstanding. Everything about this hotel reflects high quality. I particularly enjoyed the lovely bathrobes and the shower with a temperature meter.

I had stayed at The Fairfax just a few days prior, over Christmas, with my mother. We had my cat, arms full of luggage, and more gifts than we anticipated. We also had two cars to valet. Everything was wonderful and more than we could imagine - that weekend. Just five days later I arrived for NYE, having ben so impressed my first trip, I wanted to stay again. Arrived with just me and the cat this time and was not greeted with help unloading in the rain, was asked to move my truck to make room for other cars (um, it's unloaded, a valet can just TAKE it now, please?) and then informed - curbside - that cats, and my six-pack of beers were not welcome at the hotel. I was granted "exceptions" for both, but was shocked at the overall 180-degree switch in hospitality from my previous visit. I was impressed by the turndown service, but that was about it. From now on when I travel to DC, I'll just stay with my father 45 minutes outside the city and use the Metro to get in and out.
