I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The room was not too small, not too big. The Park Cafe downstairs is excellent with great prices, excellent service, great food and opens until late at night, perhaps is 24 hrs, I don't know. 5 short blocks from central park and 8 blocks from times square make its location ideal. Restaurants, theater, subway, everything is close by. The only con is the wireless internet cost of $5 an hour. Thank god I had my own internet connection

  • Convenient location. Enough comfort and privacy to unwind.

Positive in general. Not perfect, but good, very good for the value. Food on premises too expensive for its quality - had to go out. Service courteous and prompt. Elevators overcrowded and slow. Pleasant and happy ambience, however. Would come again. Would book the same double room again.

  • This hotel is a great value, especially in the winter, and the location is good.

The Wellington is generally priced below neighboring hotels. While it is not an upscale hotel, it is decorated in and maintained at a pleasant level. A business traveller does not need luxury when the traveller is not in the room except to sleep. The staff is cordual and the location has much to offer. Subway stop essentially in the basement, Central Park nearby, Carneige Hall and Lincoln Center in close proximity.

  • Only thing good about this place is location

If everything else in the same price range is booked then it might be a good choice. The bed choices are 1 queen or 2 twins. the beds are hard. You can not have 2 queens. The window only opens 3 inches because they are afraid you will jump and the room is 105 degrees. They charge 5 dollars an hour for internet. Yes in 2012....ridiculous..The manager is rude. Maid staff and door men are very nice.

  • Always great service and hospitality.

I've stayed at the Wellington several times and am never disappointed. The room sizes vary and tend to be small, but I'm not there to hang out in a hotel room so as long as it's clean and comfy I'm happy. The entire staff from the bellmen to the reception desk to housekeeping to room service is lovely. Room service, provided by the diner attached to the hotel is reasonably priced and FAST. Water pressure in the shower is excellent too. If you're traveling on a budget and want to stay in the heart of Manhattan, I recommend the Wellington.
