- Per NYC union regulations, if ten people or more arrive together at the hotel via the same means, there is a mandatory baggage handling fee of 7.20 per bag round trip.

spent a week in NYC. room was very small. Bed was ok. We switched hotels after 2 nights. The doors and windows didnt operate well. The AC in one room was blowing snow and in my boss' room it was a sauna. Engineering could not fix it. My boss didnt want to switch (watching the expenses), but I knew when his wife arrived in 2 days, we would be gone because she would not put up with this. .. and we did move down the street to a much nicer place for just $20 more a nite.

When we finally got the hotel it was great. I would go there again. Being a Southerner, I prize being polite and gracious, but found myself being otherwise on the phone with the hotel when our plan to go from JFK per Air Train to the subway system was foiled because our flight was delayed from Nashville for 3 hrs; when we finally got to the subway we learned we could not get the train because a boat ran into a bridge. A police officer told us we could go outside and get a taxi immediately. He was very wrong - no taxis and the car service across the street was closed. We saw a couple of cars from that service drive by and people tried to make deals to hire the car but most did not have enough money. I didn't think it would be too smart to step up and say I had the cash, being the environment was more than a bit tense. People were crying and screaming about the subway and lack of help from MTA. I called the hotel just to get the number of a taxi or car service. The car service said they did not have a car and the taxis were all busy picking up passengers from other train stations where the train was not running. Once the manager thought I had hung up on him, but my cell phone just dropped the signal. Things got tense on the phone, probably because I sounded desperate - I was. In the end, the manager gave us the number of a car service that we realized was the number of the one across the street which we thought was closed. Because we called the number, we were invited over and able to make a deal to get a car. So I want to thank the manager for giving us the number as we thought they were closed (they sort of were). Anyway, no one said anything to us about all the phone calling and we are thankful for the help as we got to our hotel by midnight, ate supper, and fell into bed. I was too tired to talk about it if anyone thought this Southern woman was rude. The room was very warm and inviting, in fact, it was 2 rooms. The beds were great, the restaurant connected with the hotel was great as well. We were very hungry. We enjoyed our stay and would go back. The view out onto 7th was great and we were able to walk everywhere.
