If you're looking for a cookie cutter chain hotel with all the amenities, the Wellington is not it, but it's a great value for midtown Manhattan. The staff was friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean. There is a great Greek restaurnat in the hotel, and the coffee shop was reasonable (for New York) and convenient. We went to the theater and MOMA and walked everywhere--would definitely stay here again.

Only good thing is the location. The hotel is old and "dirty" with age. Room is very small with a very tight bathroom comparable to a bathroom on the plane with extra space to stand and shower. The overall interior of the hotel looks and feels old with wear over the years. I would rather pay the difference in price for better hotel that meets the basic standard of a three star hotel.

Vey nice clean hotel in the best location. Yes, it is old (which adds the charm of old New York) and the rooms are small, but what does one need for a few nights in New York? A comfortable bed and hot shower! I booked a small room (1 standard bed) and arrived with 2 kids for 2 nights. We got upgraded to a bigger room and got complementary rollaway bed upon arrival. Will definitely stay there again and recommend to the friends.
