This charming hotel caters to a very large European and Australian crowd. It's always fascinating to meet with tourists from around the world. The Europeans are more friendly and less hurried than their American counterparts. I've stayed many times and the rooms are always slightly different. You won't find the uniformity of the large American corporate hotel chains. Very inexpensive internet access is available in the lobby. The hotel is within walking distance of Carnegie Hall, Central Park, Columbus Circle, Lincoln Center, Rockerfeller Center, and Times Square.

  • Not the best experience, but the room was clean!

First off, despite receiving confirmation that our rooms were booked (I was traveling with a colleague), once we got to the hotel, there were no rooms available for us! They had an absolutely wonderful bellhop take us to a different hotel about 2 blocks away which was clean, but old where the rooms and bathroomswere in need of paint and all around updating. Now I'm not THAT picky, but the last time this particular hotel had the rooms rennovated was probably about 1970. So all in all, the Wellington staff was excellent and made sure we got new rooms although not at their hotel.

  • Not a palace, but certainly good enough for a few nights away!

We stayed for the Macy's Thanksgiving parade, right on the route. We found it close enough to everything for us to get around by walking. Just a few blocks from anything we wanted to see. The staff was friendly enough and agreed to give us a room facing the parade route - just in case the weather was really bad - when we asked. I don't like parades, but this was worth seeing. The room is small, but you're in Manhattan, you'll just be in there a few hours to sleep and you're off again! Everything felt sort of old and cramped, but everything worked like it was supposed to, and we didn't notice noise from outside or the other rooms. The cafe on site was packed every morning, but the food was good and priced right. All in all, I'd recommend it.

  • Welcoming professional staff; very small rooms; great location.
