I traveled to D.C. for work, and stayed at the Lombardy. It was reasonably priced, very close to the airport, and located in a nice, fun neighborhood with lots of restaurants nearby. Good staff too.

This hotel is a piece of history nestled in one of the most convenient locations in DC. The accomodations have been updated and the rooms are impeccable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It contains an excellent restaurant. It's like having a second home in the middle of DC. I would highly recommend!!

Hotel Lombardy is within walking distance of George Washington U and the metro stop. Nothing special about the hotel, but also nothing especially bad. In other words, not much to distinguish it. In fact, the only thing to comment on, pro or con, is the small elevator. Won't be sorry for staying there, but also won't find it memorable.

My husband and I took our two teenage boys to Washington last summer and enjoyed our stay immensely. We walked to the White House and the Metro easily, and there were good restaurants nearby. We had two rooms that were next door to each other as they do not offer adjoining rooms, and it worked quite nicely for us. The beds were fabulous, with beautiful linens. Our king bed was the best I have ever slept in in a hotel. Our boys had two full beds in their room and said they were comfortable as well. A couple of things were bothersome ... the sorely-needed second elevator was being installed so wait times were long. We ended up using the stairs all the time, and the benefit of being on the 4th floor was that we were in better shape when we got home from our vacation! My husband and I never could connect to the internet in our room even though the cable was replaced, so we used the connection the boys' room. It would have been a major problem if we only had one room as we used the internet to plan our days and book tours, etc. One downside is that there is no free breakfast and no family spot nearby to buy it readily - we ended up buying juice and breakfast bars at the nearby CVS and having an early lunch to avoid crowds. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again - it is a lovely boutique hotel (originally was studio apartments in the 1920's) with a great address.
