Stayed there recently...thought the price compared to the others in the area was a great deal...got good reviews...but you always get what you pay for...would have gladly shelled out the extra $$$ to stay at Chateau Marmont. Had a 1st floor room and the balcony looked right into vines that were hiding a fence keeping people from walking right up to room.

Beautiful design, with original artwork throughout the lobby and in the halls. They graciously gave us a free upgrade, which we loved. The room was perfectly lovely, with great design, furnishings, textiles, and fixtures (bed was a wee bit hard for this Goldilocks). It had a sitting area with gas fireplace, a small balcony, well-stocked mini-bar, huge tv. The rooftop space is great for dining and lounging day and night, with good music, heat lamps, a pool, lots of plants, and cozy places to sit/lay. The restaurant is pricey, but very good - make reservations on weekend nights. The wi-fi password they gave us didn't work, but we didn't care to sort it out. The staff members were friendly and helpful. The parking fee and the restaurant prices were on the steep side, but I'd still come back for weekend-length stays.
