    The Congress Plaza was excellent. It's an old hotel, lots of history, but that's part of its charm. Everything sparkled, our room was lovely, nice linens, beautiful bath, quiet halls. A really good experience.

    Can't beat the location. As for everything else: small outdated rooms, bathrooms that you can't turn around in without hitting something, rude employees, internet cost $10 extra a day, no continental breakfast, the sheets and pillows are as old as the hotel itself, no microwave or refrigerator in the rooms, and i'm sure they're a few things I've missed. I do NOT recommend.

    After reading the reviews on this hotel, I wasn't expecting much, but I needed a last-minute place to stay for the weekend. To my surprise, this hotel worked out great, mostly because it was in a perfect location to get to all the museums and sightseeing places in Chicago. I would have preferred to have free Wi-Fi in the hotel for a more convenient stay, but it all worked out. I basically just needed a place to sleep and it worked out better than I expected.

    The hotel was very old and my toilet ran the whole time. One day our room did not get cleaned. The hotel does not offer free wi fi and even charges for local phone calls. This is not a business friendly hotel.
