    Very nice hotel on Ocean Drive in South Beach. Everything was up to or exceeded my needs and expectations. Room was great as was the staff. Wonderful restaurant on the ground floor and outside, and great jazz saxaphone player who played each night. Would definitely go back.

    Great Location and great service. However, if you are going with friends or family beware of the bathroom door! You can see everything! I am disappointed with the online travel website about the price. They are not very clear on the fact that the price they are advertising is without taxes or hotel fees. My hotel bill for one night was $** more than what the online travel website was advertising. When all is said and done, great place for the ""Miami"" experience, however, very deceptive in pricing on the online travel website part.

    The beacon seems to be in the center of everything on the beach and not far from attractions on Wash and Collins ave. The hotel was clean and the staff was helpful. Very cool decor and design. The room with double beds was a bit smallish but was very clean and had everything we expected except a fridge. I would stay again.

    The beacon was a last minute decision. We chose this hotel based on the location and the previous reviews given. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL. Would definitely stay there again. The staff was accomodating, Check in is normally 3pm. Our first day, we got there around 11:45AM and I wasn't feeling well so they were sure to get us in a little earlier which I was grateful for. The rooms were comfy and the bathrooms were very small but good enough to do what you had to do. Prime location. Directly across the street from the beach, the hotel provides nice, large beach towels and beach chairs are in your rooms ready to go and water at the front desk to take with you if you request it. Half price drinks at the bar til 4pm and specials on dinner every night. The fitness room is kind of small but it is equipped with a treadmill, elliptical maching and a universal machine. It also has a full bathroom in there so you can shower if you choose too. The business center (internet room) has at least 4 computers for your convenience and of course the internet is free. You won't regret your stay at this hotel. It's been around since 1936 and there's a reason it's lasted so long. If you choose this hotel I'm sure you will enjoy your stay just as much as I did.

    For a normal room at the Beacon, don't expect some big lavish room. It's an Art Deco hotel so the rooms are small, but accomodating. It's chic, complete with marble floors, a flat screen TV and a mini-bar and safe. Really, when in South Beach, you shouldn't need to be in your room that much! The hotel is clean, they have a business center with online access, which proved to be very important for me. You get a free continental breakfest next door at Johnny Rockets. Valet parking is $20 a day, but really with the great location, you can park your car and walk or take a cab to and from anywhere you need to go. The beach is right across the street! There is great dining and entertainment all over the place near Beacon. Try Mangos! They have GREAT food, great looking servers and an all night party! I was there both nights I stayed and it's only two or so blocks from the hotel. Other cool places to check out is the Love Hate Lounge, Ted's Hideaway (for cheap drinks). If you're a club person then hit Mansion, Opium / Prive. You can't go wrong with the Beacon. The staff is great too!
