Not my type of hotel. Rooms to small, mattress to old. nice bath amenities ( Aveda ). Hotel is perfect if you want to go to the beach during the day or seat in one of the table to have a pasta or salad with a glass of wine, while loooking people passing by in front of you like in a live runway. is a nice place to feel Miami's flavor. If you want to go to big malls to shop this is not the hotel for you.

One would wonder how a lunch for two could be $* at the RENDEZVOUS which is the restaurant for Beacon Hotel. I agree with the person who wrote the review suggesting these folks are "shady". It wasn't just that they the entice you into the restaurant with reasonable food prices, but gouge you with $* mojito and a $* beer (not obviously published). The one person pizza I had looked like it came out of a frozen box! Of course, don't forget they already add the tip into the bill, then encourage you to add to it. I learned my lesson about tipping in South Beach. Every bar and restaurant adds an 18% tip. Don't add more! This place is awful!

The way this hotel does "business" is deplorable and shady. I had a trip scheduled for 2/11 for which I had to cancel today. I made my reservation and nothing was charged to my card. I had called at 8am local time the next business day still nothing was charged to my card and I cancelled the reservation as was given a CANCELLATION NUMBER. I checked my bank over 5 hours later and guess what they CHARGED MY CARD. I called this place and they gave me 20 justifications that didn't even make sense. Couldn't even answer my question as to how a reservation 5 hours AFTER it has been cancelled is still charged. AND the great thing is , THEY TELL ME I HAVE TO WAIT 4 DAYS to get my money back. I am SO GLAD I didn't stay at this sham.

It's a decent hotel--down comforter, Aveda products, etc; however, it is located at the "party" end of Ocean Drive. I traveled mid-April 2010, so most Spring Break trips were over, but it didn't feel like it. So, if you're a twenty-something, this hotel is a good place for you. Also, the hotel has tile floors in the rooms, so when people walk around above you, it can be quite noisy.

Hotel was real nice. Would stay there again. Comp beach towels and beach chairs a real plus. Staff were really good except for barker outside hotel. Free mojotos were a sham- had to have them in indoor bar and they were terrible. Other dinks were 20 bucks which was common--bring plenty of money. Dinner for two was over 100 bucks with gratuity added. Worst part of trip--enduring the barkers at each hotel on OC Drive, pushing menus and drink specials in your face as you walked by. Worst barker was at Beacon Hotel. I finally had to ask him to leve us alone, which he did. Stan
