The Marcel is very conveniently located within walking distance of many trendy Manhattan neighborhoods, shops, and bars. I do agree that the room is small; however, Manhattan lodging is never going to be the large hotel rooms that most travelers are accustomed to if they've never been to NYC. Most hotel rooms are near that size. With that being said, the decor is beautiful and everything has been modernized. I do wish they had free wifi. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. And the restaurant downstairs, 'inoteca, is delicious. We ate there twice! All in all a wonderful experience.

The room is extremely small, its better for a couple rather than two overpacked-for-a-weekend girls. The staff was great, the place is beautiful, clean and comfortable it;'s just so darn small!!! But it's close to everything! I still loved it, and its so worth the price....

Loved being in a non-touristy area of NYC yet we could still get to everything easily and quickly. Convenient, neighborhood restaurants and bars were very yummy - especially Bluebell Cafe. Ask for an upper floor room as the lowers haven't been refurbished. Gorgeous deck with excellent views of the city.

WE booked this hotel thinking it would be very nice, but what we found was sub-standard customer service and a sub-par room. Our heater was broken, there was no ironing board in the hotel, our bed was a very uncomfortable, full sized bed, and the "mini bar" they promised was a tray of peanuts sitting on the counter.
