My adult kids and I stayed here for a long weekend in mid-December and we could no have asked for a better holiday family reunion spot. The advantage of being on the north end of South Beach is that it's the only place where the ocean is directly adjacent to hotel and not across the street. Everything was postcard perfect, from the rum drinks to the hammocks to the orchids in the lobby. Surprise expense (not the fault of the hotel) is that parking was very expensive. Budget $25-$35 a day. It was well worth having a rental car, though.

This was our first stay in this hotel and we would/will go back. Here is why: Location is perfect - close to Lincoln Road and Ocean Drive. The pool area is well designed with enough lounge chairs for everyone but without feeling crowded. The breakfast that was included with our reservation was very good. The pool restaurant serves excellent food. Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. I have no complaints except that the floor in the room should be vacuumed/cleaned more often. But that is really a minor detail.

My husband and I went for a "weekend" getaway 04/12-04/15. I was hesitant due to previous reviews I had read but the price was too good to pass up. I have to say the hotel was average, it wasn't the Ritz but then again you aren't paying for the Ritz. First off, the lobby, and the first floor smell of Lavender. I think it's infused through the vents. I loved coming into the hotel lobby each day and smelling that. The lobby is very nice as well. We were placed on the first floor directly across from the housekeeping area so it was noisy in the morning. The hotel room was small but very clean. Unfortunately we had a view of the wall so we kept our blinds shut the whole time. I would invest a little more and get a room with an ocean view next time. And the bed was hard so the first night I woke up like 4 times. Each morning from 7:00am - 10:30am they serve free breakfast. I have to say it was very good. They had croissants, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, cereal, juice, coffee and fruit. There is also a nice "restaurant" that overlooks the pool. The food and drinks there were pretty good and inexpensive. The pool area was nice, there were always plenty of lounge chairs and it connects to a private beach area and then directly out to the beach walk which was nice. The hotel is also within walking distance to Ocean Drive, The Lincoln mall shops and souvenir stores. CVS and Walgreens are literally right down the block. If we had the money we would've stayed at the Ritz or Miami Loews but all in all for the money this hotel was worth it. I enjoyed my stay and I would definitely return but request an ocean view room instead
