Important Hotel Information
- Please be informed that the hotels swimming pool will be closed from December 10th to December 20th 2012 for renovation. The pool repair will not cause any major noise and safety barricades will be properly placed so as not to disturb our guests.
- The Marseilles Hotel pool located next door will be available to serve all our guests so they can still enjoy sunbathing and swimming during their visit.

We were so happy to have a a nice clean room so near the beach. Not a fancy place, but very nice. Great location. Street is very busy . . .but we liked the feel. So close to everything. We walked everywhere and had a great time. We are going back next year for sure!

Liked the location, walking distance to highlights of South Beach. We checked in and were put in a room that had just had the carpets shampooed and were soaking wet. When we went back to the front desk, they were not apologetic or amenable to offering us anything for our inconvenience, just gave us another room on the same floor. They never gave us the passcode to the free WiFi or the combination to the gate that led to the beach. Nor did they tell us that the lock on the gate did not work from the beach side, causing us to have to cut thru the hotel next door to get back! Then we observed other guests reaching over the gate to open it from the inside. The rooms were very small and the bathroom even smaller.

I had a choice between this place and The Royal Palms for a last minute surprise trip to Miami for NYE. Both were listed as 4 star and on the beach, but my husband had already been to The Royal Palms and the pictures for the South Seas Hotel looked nice. So I chose the South Seas. Boy did I regret that decision! I don't know what could possibly make this place 4 star. The place was old, the room smelled like mildew, the front elevator barely worked, and the "gym" was a beat-up looking treadmill and handweights in a shed by the pool (with no A/C). I paid the same for this place as I could have for The Royal Palms, but I would have had a better room at a Comfort Inn. The only thing going for this place is the location and the friendly and helpful staff.

From the reviews I read prior to my trip, I was expecting the worst. What I actually got was a nice, quiet hotel right on the beach in the heart of South Beach. The hotel itself is nothing too fancy but offered a continental breakfast each morning that was perfect before a trip out to the beach. The restaurant and bar offered affordable meals and a good variety of drinks. With several dining options, night clubs, and shopping in walking distance the location of this hotel is perfect. Don't expect a 5-star hotel but do expect a relaxing, comfortable experience.
